Accessories What is the best car mount for the Droid X?

I'm looking to get a car mount for the X, so I can use it as a GPS. I see Verizon has one on their website, but it looks like it is blocking where the charger would need to be plugged in.

What kinds of mounts are you guys using, and what do you recommend?
 
The only car mounts that I'm aware of that will actually work with the X, is the Motorola branded one specifically designed for the device, or a standard universal mount that fits just about any and every smartphone.

Personally, I'm loving the Motorola car mount.

The charger plugs into the mount itself. And then you just put the phone in the car mount. Sorta like the dock.
 
what he said, it is a good dock. It also has a removable liner witch I am assuming is to make it compatible with a phone cover
 
The Motorola car mount for the DX is awesome (much better than the one they had for the Droid). Very well made and sturdy. It has a plug in for the car charger (sold seperately). Highly recommend!

i have the moto car dock from verizon. and yes, the car charger plugs into the doc itself and the phone mounts to the dock.
 
liking my xentris universal that i got from BB. vent or windshield mount. easy in/out. works with all cases.
 
I hate that ugly window mount arm to!

I used a fitted bracket witch is sheet metal. I used a step bit to drill a large hole that the threads on the back of the droid dock could fit threw and then tightened it down with the ball socket wing nut. I did this for my Droid and the Droid X dock fit right in its place. The dock and original window mount are un-modified
 
i was going to mod my moto dock, but after seeing another jeep owner taking videos from his window mount, i think im going to try the suction cup first.
 
I'm sure the proclipusa one will be amazing as every product I've used of theirs is, but I don't see one out for the X yet. It doesn't usually take them too long though.

The fact that it is a vent clip is somewhat of a negative for me. I'd rather have a suction cup mount.

What I really like about the Tetrax is that the mount is extremely portable (partly because it is a vent mount). That's good if you travel a lot. The disk that goes on the phone is really small (it comes with four different ones...I'm using the one that is smaller than a dime, but the biggest is about the size of a quarter). Also, you just put your phone close to the mount and it grabs the phone (magnetically, of course), so easy on/off.

At some point, I want to make a suction cup base that the vent clip can grab onto. That way it gets the phone off of the vent (I don't really like it there), but still allows me to disconnect the vent mount and take it on travel with me.
