Root What is the best ROM for battery life?

Hi folks

Simple question but sure they'll be a number of differing opinions, but does anyone have conclusive evidence?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts. :-)

I don't have evidence, but my perception (from personal experience) that LeeDroid is best for battery life. Although technically, if you use any Sense based ROM with his kernel, it should yield pretty similar results.

Hi mate! which version of leedroid are you on? Rom manager reviews don't look too positive regarding the battery life

Cheers for the thoughts, i re flashed CM7.1 and took a load of apps off and the battery life is pretty good, getting 16 or 17 hours out of it now so quite happy. Just wish Orange had a better 3g network around Bolton and Manchester!!!

You know Orange and T Mobile share the same signal now?

My Orange signal at home is pretty poor so I've to manually select Orange T-Mobile. Previously it would only pick up a 2G signal, but I've noticed a 3G and occasional H every now and then.

You might want to give the Orange T-Mobile signal a whirl.

Haha! Been there done it! No real in joy as when I de select 2G in the option and then choose orange T-Mobile it takes ages to find it and when it does connect it loses the signal and I get a little 'x' next to my signal. End up going back in and selecting 2G in order to get any coverage

Once i installed cm7 i then updated to the latest Lordmod kernal

and el pres sent me links to the post about undervolting

made my battery last even longer

LorDmod kernel allows for undervolting and then you can also play with CPU settings, which can also help with battery life!

Check this thread out for more info on the LorDmod kernel (and a little bit on CPU settings)... I believe there's a new kernel out (not looked myself since changing).

If you need any more info, just post! :)
