Root What is the deal with latest tp.img breaking ouch screen in recovery

So whats the story? Should I or should I not download this?

with the latest ota the firmware that comes with it, mainly the touch panel gets boink when you use TWRP in recovery. also with the latest ota you will not be able to flash aosp roms because again the touch panel gets boinked. you will be restricted to flash only JB sense roms. basically you can only run ROMs that include the 3.16 boot.img/kernel.......now this is only if you take the ota.

if you just flash the latest firmware that captn throwback has provided then you should be ok. as it does not include touch panel. it has been removed. However, you can only flash this if you are s-off.

I am S-Off and I am running stock with goodies 3.40 which is supposed to be based on 3.16 release. I was able to flash the latest firmware last night with the new radio and PRI based on 3.16 software.

Can I flash the tp.img also without bricking my phone?
 
you can try it if you like. however, you can only flash jb sense roms with it. you can't falsh any aosp roms, unless you downgrade tp which the good captain has provided a downgrade as well......so that is up to you, but like granite said i would pass on it.
