What is the largest battery that will fit with an OEM battery cover?

What's the best battery that actually makes the phone stay charged longer, doesn't lose it's charge capacity after a few months, and doesn't require a modified back cover?

I think that question will give you better results. There are quite a few batteries out there that can fit in the Evo, but I have yet to find one that doesn't have numerous reviews saying they will just die after a few months.

I have an extended battery and cover already, but I am going back to the original cover so I can get a sturdy case.

I don't really care on the battery life because I will have an extra one for back up.

My neighbor swears by it. I've not used it (yet) but I'm right on the verge of needing it, or a larger capacity battery at least.

I have a 3500 battery and this thing (EVO) sucks on a battery really bad!

Largest HTC branded battery that will fit, at least of which I am aware, it 2150MHh. I am currently using an 1800MAh HTC battery, which extends run time significantly. Seemingly beyond the rated 16.6% increase. I don't use any app-whacking junk, since there's nothing more effective than just turning crap you're not using OFF yourself. Just killing all unused radios and manually turning off the screen helps tremendously.

I have the Ultimate Juice Defender installed now, so I am good to go now!

I got a 3500 that came with a cover on ebay. Have been using it for 6 months or so. It makes the phone seem bigger, but it still fits into my pockets just the same, and it also seems to fit nicely into my hand.

It is almost impossible for me to run it down. I was trying a battery calibration app out and it said to charge to 100%, then unplug and let it drain to zero for best results. I worked on it all day, playing pandora and watching videos. By the end of the night, I went to a video site and found a 30 minute flash video, and played the same video over and over until my battery finally got to zero. I think I hit replay at least 5 times.
