My 16 year old son is getting a Desire tomorrow while I'm still with my trusty old Hero - having 2.1 on my Hero really does ease the pain though!
 
Surely it's *you* who should be getting a brand new desire, while your son gets a lovely second hand hero?

Or do paper rounds pay a lot more these days than they did when i was a kid?

Grandparents are subsidising - I did suggest that he had my Hero as it was smaller and better suited to him, but he wasn't having any of that:(
 
Well at least he'll be able to 'train you' on 2.1 !!!!! :-)
Kids that age pick it all up so much quicker than us oldies

Had it delivered to my work so I've been setting it up for him (no it's not just so I can have a play) - very nice but the only thing I crave for is the gorgeous live wallpapers - everything else on my 2.1 Hero is enough to keep me happy. I'm pleased for him though as he has endured a very old Sony K800 for a few years now without asking for anything more.

Sell your son into slavery. You'll not only get the new Desire, but also a lot of spare cash for him. so that you can then have a party to welcome the new Desire..
