Help What is this button for?

On the bottom edge of phone, there's a tiny red button recessed in a similarly tiny hole that I can't find the function of. Could find no reference to it after searching the forum.

its not a button, its a little hook for people who want to have crap hang from their phone like a key chain. you can see it if you take the back cover off.

I put a lanyard on there when I am biking or traveling somewhere that if my phone were to fall, I'd be SOL, like when I decide to walk over a bridge to Canada (it's actually really fun, lol) Just think about taking a pic, getting hit with a gust of wind, and there goes the phone.. No thanks..

From what I read, the lanyard is popular in Asian countries. In a way I think that's the most functional way of carrying a mobile phone but I'm not going to be the trendsetter here.
