Not as "mid ranged" as I expected it to be. I ended up with this phone yesterday after weeks of research, but not based off of any of that research...
I wanted an Incredible or an X, but I've got some stains on my credit report so they wanted a $400 security deposit. Couple that with the price of the phone, possibly being pinned to a mail in rebate, and activation charge I was looking at investing over $700 which is a tad above my budget.
Already sharing a family plan with my mother on ATT. Checked out the iphone4 but I prefer the Droid OS. Plus I needed a phone NOW as mine just died, and I wasn't looking forward to mixing with screaming iphone fans later this week for a compromise phone, or dishing out 3/4 of a grand for a phone I wouldn't get to touch for a month becauase of availability, so I bit the bullet and got the Aria.
So going into some face time with the Aria I was expecting to be very frustrated and regretful.
Not so though! The screen has a low resolution but its bright and crisp. I can view small text fine. The camera has no flash so sucks inside but takes considerably adequate pictures outside. The processor is "slow(er)" but the OS is very responsive and games play great. Mine came with a 2gb miro sd card inside and I filled the phone up with tons of games and programs and have only just started running out of room, and that's just the internal storage. I haven't touched the micro yet.
To be honest I don't know yet if I'm going to keep it. I've got a month to decide if I want to upgrade to the Inc on Verizon and it'll almost entirely depend on whether I want to invest that much for a better camera, as everything else the phone does I'm happy with.
Only downsides so far is a lot of program and some os crashing. May be because I've tried out every stupid free program there was last night. Although there does seem to be a portrait/landscape bug where programs crash when you switch. Even core programs like the camera sometimes.
