Help What is this notification icon?

[MDrabik]

What is this notification icon? It appeared after a recent update. Is there a way to get rid of it?

I have Android Lollipop 5.0.1

I would guess it's telling you that you have no sim card. What kind of phone do you have?

Thanks, that may help.

I have an LG G3.

Welcome to AF, @MDrabik!

I was going to guess a 3.5" floppy disk:

but I think Luna's answer is better .

I think Luna is correct. This LG G3 never had a SIM CARD - at least there is no slot for one.

So, now it's just any annoying notification Icon. Is there a way to get rid of it without rooting the phone?

If you're a Verizon or Sprint customer, it could mean the the sim isn't provisioned properly and you won't get an LTE connection, but everything else should work.

It could be one of these, too ...

I stand corrected - there is a Slot for the SIM card. But unlike other phones I've owned, this one was located under the back cover. I just popped the back cover off - and low and behold - there's an empty space there for the SIM Card.

Well, learn something new everyday. I thought all SIM Cards loaded in a slot from the side. Never would have thought the makers would have put it under the cover. And I thought I had been gypped all this time.

Problem solved. Thanks for the help!

There might even be a slot for an SD card in there.
