What is the news on the texting issue? Are you unable to text with this phone or something? I brought a triumph but thinking of exchanging for this.

About one every couple days for me I get an error trying to send a text. I just do a prl update and then I'm good for another couple days.

I took mine back because of this, also when it did this I was unable to make or receive calls. Phone costs way too much money to have such a stupid problem IMO. YMMV of course ;)

I would hold off until this has been fixed, it's annoying. Supposedly, they are working on a fix. I get an error multiple times a day where I can't send a text. My signal jumps from 0 to full to 3 and back all day. Issues with the internet. And probably related to signal, my calls aren't coming through. I either catch them on the last ring, or not at all. Wait, or wait and then switch to Boost if it's true that they're getting the Galaxy S II.

For the first week it happened to me about 5 times, over the past month since rooting and roming it's only happened to me twice. I think that it's more of a network as opposed to a phone issue and at least for me it seems like it's being sorted out by Virgin.

Ahhh man :/ I hate this triumph and I am glad I can take it back. Does anyone know of any prepapid carriers with decent plans for texting and unlimited mins. It doesn't have to be unlimited data as I use wifi mostly. I found Virgin Mobile through Sprint and I wanted to be rid of my Nexus S4G.

The only other prepaid carrier that I found to be decent was Boost Mobile, which is part of Sprint as well. They have unlimited everything for $55, which comes out to $65 after taxes, or $60 if you buy the top-up card monthly at walmart. Every 6 months that you make your payment on-time, your bill goes down by $5, until you reach $40.

T-Mobile is great where I live...but their $50 plan only comes with 100mb 4g before throttle lol....for $60 you can get 2gb, $70 for 5gb. I'll leave out the other plans as you said you wanted unlimited talk and text. BTW, another good thing about going the GSM route is the ability to easily change phones, and not have to use only Boost/VM ones.

- I'm waiting only until my 30 days from buying these phones (I'm shopping for alternatives that aren't downgrades)

- Some report that this has been going on for months with our Sprint counterpart (I'm thinking of getting as far away from Sprint as possible may be a good idea)

A phone that can't make/receive calls is absurd.

Yes, T-Mobile's plans are strange. I can't seem to find what they throttle down to. Any more than $50/mo is contract price-range.

PagePlus has unlimited talk/100MB for $40, up to 2GB for $55.
Straight Talk is unlimited everything, with some data use restrictions for $45.
T-Mobile has an unlimited talk/text, 100MB before throttle for $50
SimpleMobile has unlimited talk/text and "3G" data for $40.

Verizon and AT&T have some fairly horribly expensive pre-paid plans also.

If you don't need data at all, there is more available, as well as if you don't need unlimited data but just "a lot" (like 1000-1500 minutes).

the op might be fine with straight talk or simple mobile but for anyone else thinking of using those 2 companies do some research before switching.the first thing you will notice is it is not unlimited data it is unlimited web.you should also read the fine print of what they dont allow and yes i know some people get away with doing it.you could also check out some threads at howard forums of people who are with straight talk or simple mobile and see what they think of them.

We're do you live im looking for a nexus s4g...I have a evo v 4g

for all those who have a problem w/ their evo v 4g there are many thousands of us who have no problems at all...... Mine has been flawless!!!!!!!!!

You've never, ever seen the Radio Interface Resource Shortage error and you use stock messaging? Maybe there is hope, but how could hundreds of people get a bad hardware batch...thats nuts

I believe it's not a phone issue. It's a network issue. For what it's worth my optimus v used to do the same thing. The only difference is no error would show up. I would be unable to make calls or texts even when I showed signal. It was the same issue. The only difference is the optimus didn't have software that would show there was an error. If you get any phone on sprints network you risk having problems. This problem has definitely been exaggerated you far if people begin to believe you can't text at all because of . I got an error once this past month. Rebooted phone and problem went away. Easy fix. Also, it only happens in areas I have horrible service at

Not once since 6/11!!! Do you really think everyone is experiencing this issue? There are many of us who have not seen this problem....... It just seems more wide spread because those w/ a problem seek out these forums for help.

Maybe there is hope after all. Guess I'll have to try to get a hardware replacement. There are people on here who have had 3 bad ones in a row, lol wow I guess some people just get extremely unlucky

i used to get the radio interference error quite often at home. it's been about 1 week since i've gotten the error though. same phone. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they fixed their system.

For those whose phones are working perfectly with no errors: are any of the texts you receive delayed? I guess you wouldn't know unless someone texted you and then asked why you hadn't responded yet, but, has anyone else had this? Or very slow internet speeds? I don't know if this is a network issue and I should switch carriers, or a phone issue and I should replace it.

very slow 3G is just sprint...their network is total garbage in any metro area and is effectively unusable. Texts and phone calls will be fine that's just using the network, not data.

It doesn't take fast 3G to deliver SMSs real-time; ICQ worked great on 14.4kbps dial-up modems on that new-fangled Internet Algore made for us. :D

I never had any problems on the Triumph.

As far as texting I never had a problem with the Triumph either, I went through 6 replacement Triumphs for various other reasons though. ;-) And has been previously mentioned, I also believe this to be a network problem as opposed to hardware. I personally believe that for some reason, especially when in a low signal area that the services aren't being properly provisioned, that's why a profile update fixes the problem temporarily.
