What is wrong with Facebook?

I think a lot of the problems have to do with facebook "updating" their site to the new homepage. If you look under the Facebook for Android page (on actual FB site), there seems to be a lot of people with issues after they rolled out the new HP.

I like how I can chat when I am on the real page but my "friends online" bar moves out of the display..sometimes it stays, but most of the time when I click on it it moves on me.

For all those frustrated with the facebook app, or redirects to the mobile version of the facebook site, try this:

lite.facebook.com

All the functionality of the full site, except it's optimized to take less bandwidth. I really like it, even though I have no real qualms with the app.

Okay, love the site, only problem is that notifications aren't showing up, I even made sure to get one and it's not showing up anywhere on the lite site.

I guess I'll have to try Bloo.
I primarily use the News Feed, but my FB app freaks out a couple times a week in the following ways:

-Fails to load news feed (error message)(happened: 2/11 @3pm, reloading succeeded)
-Loads my profile when I click on the news feed (how is that even possible?!)
-Fails to download 'more comments' when viewing posts with more than three responses (error message: "An error had occurred while fetching data. [-1/null]") (happened: 2/11@3pm)
-Fails to upload pictures from droid camera. It acts like it is uploading the picture, but when it is done it displays an error instead of a 'success' message.

...I will edit this post as these errors reappear to add more exact error messages, and to provide a more accurate assesment of the frequency with which they appear. Note that the fix for all of the above is "wait a while and try it again."

All you people freaking out that have had your Droid for a while need to relax I think. I just bought a brand new Droid and it's had this problem out of the box. Resetting cache...battery pull...factory reset...I think these are all a waste of time. The problem, in my opinion, is probably on facebook's side.

It is strange that some people on here claim they have no issue. I think we need to specify exactly how we're using facebook, and which browser we are using as well.

For me, when clicking a link in a facebook email about a notification or message or whatever, Dolphin browser usually gives me a blank white page, or the red box error that someone specified above. Navigating directly to facebook.com (full, mobile, or touch) seems to work just fine. So in my case, it's an email link issue only.

Weird, I just started experiencing this problem this past week. I thought it was a fluke because it started after I rooted and used Sholes 2.0.2 ROM.
But I went back to stock and did the same thing. A friends Droid is doing this as well and hasn't been rooted at all.
I tried Bloo but honestly didn't care for it as it still didn't let me access the Inbox.

For now, I just use a bookmark icon on my desktop for lite.facebook.com and it works just like an app plus it has Inbox. Actually has more features than the stock app and Bloo have. Is amazingly fast. Works fastest with xScope browser but the stock browser is quick too.
Just a suggestion :D

After everything, and reviewing everyone's answers I think you're right about the problem being on facebook's side. I never had the blank white page from email link or the pink box errors until late January so it's probably when they started changing coding in their site for rolling out the new page layouts.

It could be something as simple as something in the coding not being compatible with the phone's browsing capabilities (I have the same results on both stock as well as Dolphin browsers). Well... I guess that's not simple, but you now what I mean =P

I guess I should just turn off all my FB email notifications because seriously, there's no point now, unless I want to meditate on a blank white screen, hahaha!

I don't use the Facebook App as it is limited. I just access FB through the web browser. Now every now and then I will still get the blank white page but my latest issue is scrolling down to the bottom of the facebook page and clicking FULL SITE. Sometimes it will take me there other times it won't so I have to trick FB. I will go over to the FB app., and click a few things there then come back to the FB site on the web browser and click FULL SITE again and it usually will take me there. Full site gives me the same exact screen I would see if I was sitting at my computer. You can't even respond to an email message with the FB app. so I don't know why people would even want to use that.

That's why I liked clicking the email links when they worked, the app irritates me, lol. I have also had issues where when I go to the site it asks me to log in, and when I do it's still stuck on the login page. This doesn't happen too often though, hopefully it won't again because it hasn't for a bit... thankfully with the full site I haven't gotten any errors!

I have the same issue with the blank screens from email links. I've had it for a while and can't figure out how to fix it... but good to know it's not just my phone.

Same issue here (email notification links from Facebook now always end up as a blank page <no errors, just a blank white page).

This happens by pasting the link into either the default Browser or Dolphin (cleared cache, reset all settings) .

This began approximately one week ago .

So for now all I can do is use the email alerts to let me know that I have a FB message, then use the mobile FB site (open the browser manually and go to the FB site) to read the messages (instead of the email alerts automatically opening the browsing , linking me to the FB messages) .

Hopefully this will be corrected soon as many people are reporting the issue (I noticed it but figured it was just something on my side, a temp issue - until seeing multiple threads on diff forums).

I'm glad that others are reporting the exact same issue as I have been having, which began within the recent past weeks (NOT glad that it is happening, but glad that it's not just my device). Makes me wonder if other Android devices are experiencing anything similar or if it's just a Facebook/Droid browser issue... O.o

The only two things bugging me about the device now are how mms pictures are resized to like 10k since the update and now this Facebook issue... otherwise, rock on Droid! :D
