What is your impression of Widgetlocker with Atrix?

Are you talking about the Widgetlocker lockscreen? Well I don't really care that much about the usefulness of the lock screen, I just want it to not look ugly. So I don't really care for that widget, but its nice for those people who do take their lockscreen seriously; however, i have heard that it is known to crash for some people.

It's pointless if you use a security lock. Why? Because its a separate lock screen. So even after I unlock on my WidgetLock screen, if I have a pin or fingerprint, it will take me to my regular lock screen. Pretty annoying.

I find it very useful, I have my battery, Pandora, and POWERAMP Widgets and shortcuts to the cameras and flashlight.

When I use the fingerprint scanner, I just press power button, scan my finger and I'm in. Pretty easy peasy :) I'm not sure if this is a selection I picked as I can't find it in setting.

JP_GXP has a great setup, but my needs are a little different. I use widgetlocker in a mostly read-only mode because I don't want to have to go through an unlock just to see if that last email/sms/etc is worth my time to unlock and read. so, I've got the pure message widget and the google voice widget on there for that reason. I put the podtrapper widget on as well so I can control podcast playback w/o unlocking. This is key if you listen while driving. I've heard that battery usage is higher with widgetlocker enabled, but I found no appreciable difference between widget locker enabled or disabled. I think ultimately its the widgets you add to it that will affect battery life the most.

I love Widget Locker. I don't want to have to unlock my phone to get basic info. I have weather and calendar events front and center. Additionally, music controls on the lock screen is a huge convenience.

As a runner, I love that I can allow buttons to work on the lock screen. That allows me to enable the volume rocker and access it while the phone is clipped to my side.

I've used WL on other phones and on the Atrix since day 1. I've had very minimal issues with it and battery life is not noticeably reduced for me. Naturally, the widgets you choose to use will dictate battery life.

I'm not sure what I did then. I went through every setting and no matter what I did, if I was using the FP scanner, I would press the power button, slide to unlock, then still have to swipe my finger on the next screen or enter the pin.

Are you saying you would be on the Widget Locker lock screen, swipe your finger and it will unlock?

Yes, the dev fixed that in the last update or two ago. You can check his XDA post on this.

I just wish one could go straight to the camera using the slider rather than having to still enter your password when you slide the camera.

PowerAMP

I don't have a password or other lock. I actually don't have the slide unlock anymore. I backdoor into my phone now. ;)

My problem (I'm just dumb, I guess) is that I can't figure out how to *work* the damn thing. I have it purchased from the market, I found a cool looking lockscreen over on the XDA Inspire forum and downloaded it to my SD card, now how do I tell Widgetlocker to go to the location of the lockscreen I downloaded and install *that* and use it? No rush for an answer - I put it aside to concentrate on other issues, but I am curious...

You're asking me - right? I just put the thing on my SD Card - "the root of the SD Card", as it were. BUT, remember that I'm the guy saying I can't figure out how to make the thing work correctly. :p

That's the one issue i have.

Though I also wish the unlock slide went straight to the keypad.

+1 for the camera (and any other app. shortcut vs. widgets).
The unlock slide works as you describe you want it to now - has done for quite some time.
