I prefer Slayhers kernels above all others. Great benchmark results and tremendous battery life.
Also, very rarely will your phone overheat.
to install the kernal, you just have to rename it to update.zip then flash it in recovery mode correct?
NO NO NO! Do not rename it it update.zip!
1.) Download the kernel
2.) Put the file anywhere on your sdcard.
3.) Power off your droid
4.) Boot into recovery by holding X while powering on the phone
5.) Perform a nandroid backup (always sound practice although this is not required. Its actually not necessary at all if you have a kernel that you know works well somewhere on your sdcard.)
6.) Press install zip from sdcard
7.) Press Choose zip from sd card
10.) Navigate to the file and click on it.
11.) When the install is complete press the power button to get back to the main menu
12.) Reboot

I am seeing different names of Slayher's kernals.
Are they actually the same files how can I tell, do I just need to flash it and see or can I find info in them some how?

is the LFY-1200.zip the same as 1200 Now Version 1.6
LOL.. I know thatI use 1000 Version 1.6....the numbers mean how high in MHz you can Overclock to.

LOL.. I know that
what I mean, there are 2 pages I posted..
between the 2 there are 9 different 1000-1200 kernals.
How can I tell the difference between say:
LFY-1200.zip
1200 Now Version 1.6
1200 Now
the last 2 are low voltage from Froyo Kernels by slayher - CyanogenMod Forum
the first LFY1200 is from the first post of this thread is it the same as either with a name change or is it entirely different?
NO NO NO! Do not rename it it update.zip!
No. Just name the theme whatever you want and place it some where on your SD you'll be able to find when in recovery.
Example: I create folders on my SD such as: Kernels, Themes, ROMS, backups, etc...So when i am in recovery, it is easy to find.
O.....I guess I will start doing that now.
I have ROM Manager, so that helps me a bit. Especially with managing multiple ROMs and updates for them.
