Root What Kernel are you using for CM7?

Yes I was asking what the stock kernel was.

With Imo's you can open terminal type "su" to grand superuser access, then you type "speedtweak.sh" it will allow you to overclock, I suggest choosing either 1 or 2 (select 1 if you get wake lag), then you can set the governer with 8 I think (I personally like interactivex)

:D we posted at the same time

Because the kernel has it I would suggest using the speedtweak.sh script it will undervolt for you as well as overclock and it works well again I would just use #1 or 2 I've had issues going above 1.8

Hi,
This helped alot I was using the kernel as stock and figured I would gain battery life but with your great suggestion I hoped to see a nice increase :-) I set it for 2 and will see how it goes :-)
Can I assume that after setting this up that it will stick after a reboot?
Thanks,
Bryan

I think so but can't say for sure.

Hi,
I just curious flashing this radio will it wipe my data?
Thanks,
Bryan

No radio flash in hboot does not affect your data

Thanks for both answers :-)
I will check and see if it keeps :-)
I will also clean both caches since you do reccomend that if I am correct :-)
Getting an answer in 3 minutes is really amazing!!

Much appreciated!
Bryan

If you could report back if it sticks, I think it does but I never actually check, and usually when I reboot it is to flash something :D

So i have tried #1 and 2 on lean kernel and i really don't see a difference with drain under normal use. So how do I remove it to try a different one. I already tried just wiping cache and dalvik. That was a no go. Just restore a backup?

Restoring a backup should work, you can also just download a different kernel and flash it in recovery (again wipe cache and dalvik cache)

Hi,
I tried on a reboot and on a power down and both ways it stuck :-)
I confirmed through terminal and option 11 current status.
An important note that you should choose option 14 to exit script for it to get written. I made changes and after a reboot it didn't stick since I didn't use option 14 :-(
I am using option 2 extreme and interactiveX. So far working smoothly and noticed a quickness in using phone.
Rooting just keeps getting better and better!!

Thanks,
Bryan

Yeah I forgot to add that about exit script, sorry. Feel free to experiment around with the different governers. I personally like interactiveX but different ones handle each situation different. They each have to do with how the cpu speed scales to execute tasks and you may find one works better for you than another.
