What Launcher are you using?

I had every intention of leaving TouchWiz as soon as i picked up my note. But i'm actually pretty impressed with it so far. I have Nova, Apex, Go Launcher, and the Google Now launcher just waiting on the sidelines though.

Which do you guys use? Post some screens if you'd like.

If Wiz allowed dragging apps on the home screen on top of others to create folders I would be more than fine with Wiz. This is the first Wiz I have though that.

I am not seeing the Wiz lag people are stating and from what I have read so far, neither have any main reviews in the media.

Rush, long press an app on the home screen, I believe in the upper portion of the screen you'll get an option to 'create a folder' or something along those lines. After that you'll be able to add other apps to the folder.
It's not as easy as some other launchers, but at least it's there.

Back in the day, on my Samsung Nexus I used Nova and Apex. Since my Note 2 then 3, I used stock and I really don't have an issue with TW. I believe the Note 4's version of TW is the best yet.

I've used TW and Nova so far. Of course Nova is solid but I did like TW. I hated it until this version and now its tolerable. I'm running GNL at the moment, though.

For the last couple of years I've used Action Launcher on all of my devices, but I'm trying TW on the N4 to see how I like it.

Nove Prime. I like how I can customize the dock and take the apps icon out of the dock, you can't remove it in TW. I also use ClickUI for my app icons, the developer works closely with Nova so it is seamless.

Currently running Nova Prime. I need to customize my home screens, dock layout, animations, app drawer, and my icon pack. If I'm using my phone everyday, I want to make sure it's fully functional for me and looks pleasant.

Using Lightning Launcher Xtreme on my Sony, and Smart Launcher on my Samsung Galaxy Proclaim. I love the customization of LL, and the simplicity of SL. They suit the devices they're on.

I use Next Launcher 3D, which is made by the same people as Go. I use all Go products and like them in general.

I did try out Turbo launcher yesterday because I liked some of the themes I saw available - the icons are cuter than some (I'm an elementary teacher, so sue me), but it was slow compared to TouchWiz and Next, so I uninstalled. Wonder if it was too many launchers installed or not. I have not tried any other launchers than that.

Next Launcher can use icons/themes from Go Launcher as well.

You can do folders in the homescreen with Wiz,you can even do them in the app drawer.

I'm using the built-in TouchWiz launcher, and have folders of my most used apps categorised.

I have used Apex Pro for years. I can reduce my icon size to 90% and have 5 columns & 5 rows without the screens looking cluttered. So much you can do with it!

Nova prime. I like landscape home screen when in car etc. touchwiz cannot do that. Nova looks better too. I dont like text next to icons.

You can also long press in the app pages and then highlight whatever apps you want to go in the folder without repeating the process for every app.

If we could increase the amount of columns and rows Wiz would be fine. I have not felt compelled to use Nova like previous devices.

stock for now... I always been somewhat afraid to try launchers in fear that they slow down the phone..

That was definitely true back in the 2.x, 3.x days if you were running unrooted and trying to use Go Ex or some of the other launchers out there. Some devices didn't always play nice either.

But with Nova, Apex, Google Now, and now even Aviate, (haven't tried that one yet, but I hear nothing but good things) you can check them out without any problems.

I'm alternating between Google Now and Nova Prime, and really enjoy the UI much better than I ever did TW. I really like the customizing available with Prime. I've never been much of a "theme" guy. If anything, I put a photo as my wallpaper and keep on going with stock icons.

I'd encourage you to at least DL Nova and give it a try. The worst that happens is you uninstall in a couple of days and go back to TW.

Wiz seems fine to me and see no reason to use Nova so far.

+1

I have always liked TouchWiz. I think Samsung has done a great job with it. I just noticed today while on a call how the dialer folds into a little foreground card when you are doing something else on the phone. Cool feature.

I've never disliked TW. Well, okay, it sucked on the S1, but since then it has come a long way.

I'll give Nova the nod right now, though, if you want to use OK Google from the launcher without going to Google Now.

Nova is clean, light, and it allows a little more tweaking than TW does.

OK Google seems to work better from it than TW, but maybe that's just because I've gotten more used to OKG since I moved to Nova.

Using another launcher doesnt take many if any features away. In running noca and still get this. Nova just looks way better imo.

I use Apex because I like to have a single image of an art work on the home screens. I have all my icons in folders in three docks. It's what works for your style, and what you are used to. I've been using Apex forever and feel very comfortable with it.

Hi Rush,
For me I use Nova Prime basically so I could remove the app icon from the right hand corner of the dock, I have too many other daily go-to apps to put in the dock and needed every bit of space. Plus....Nova is much faster flipping through home pages than TW will ever be. Give it a try...
