Help what makes tether apps work

i want to find a techinical guide
on how/why tethering works. like what the apps do

and how would i make my own tether app

Right now we know PDANet works, and that's about it. There are a couple tools available for ad-hoc connections for rooted users (phone to PC wirelessly) but that's about it.

sorry i was actualy asking why tether apps work what is the process they go threw


every tether usb/wif app iv used worked clockwork mod tether wireless tether barancle tether ect

the wifi ones stoped working and the usb tether ones restrt every like 10 minutes this just started happening but pda does work nicely
