Accessories What makes the Otterbox case a must-have?

I have seen many posts on the new Otterbox case, but I don't have any knowledge of them or the company. What makes them different/better than the $4 hard case I got off of eBay. Serious question.

I have used the cheap screen protectors off of eBay and I don't like them as well. Might as well go ahead and spend the $3 dollars each for OEM ones lol.

It's not a "must have". Nothing is.

But, the silicon shock absorber lining on the OtterBox makes the phone seem nearly indestructable. The hard plastic part of the case has a good feel/grip to it

I think the Eris with the Otterbox on it feels like such a quality piece. It adds just enough heft to it to make the phone feel more solid and with the silicone lining it is very well protected. So too me after having it on for a week I do consider it a must have accessory.
