aburgthing, how the hell do you LIVE with all that SH@# stuffed into the notification bar?! You'd have to have at LEAST 9 things piled in there BEFORE anything comes in!!

LOL, I was messing with a bunch of stuff before going to work, you know..."will you please stop messing with the phone a minute" stuff that I get from my other half. Usually don't have any of it running and hide the pull down.

I use the Stock music player most of the time. I have tried so many. Music Mod is good but if you have more than one album for an artist I can't figure out how to shuffle all the songs from all albums.
If I understand the problem ... if you hit Menu when you're on the main list screen (where it has theArtist, Album, Songs, Playlist tabs at the top), there is a Shuffle All item.

I bought the full version of PowerAmp. Sounds so good on my car stereo it's unreal!

Well, if you're only running it through the car sterkeo, like IOWA, then you don't need a good music player. Any old one with options for playlists works. Having good sound quality doesn't matter at that point because the car stereo can make up for all the inadequacies in the sound its outputing. In exchange forbade lowered quality of music though, in IOWA's case, he can do wireless sync through winamp, though I don't see how that is much easier than the already simple drag and drop method.

Yes, I'm picking on IOWA. This has little relevance to the thread, but enough to not be deleted. (That was a crack at kelmar.)

You'd be surprised how much a pre-amp can make something sound better even using the EQ etc on my car stereo, even in my Scion, which has a kick ass stereo. My iPod always sounded really good, but the Evo and my Archos 5 IT are quieter and the sound quality isn't quite as to my liking. It may be a personal preference thing, but also having played bass for 10 years and having had lots of different amplification setups I've gotten good at getting the sounds I like.

For everyone that's purchased the full version of PowerAmp. What's the difference between that and the trial version?

It works forever.

Seriously though, I think they added a few more widgets, though no full screen widget like I was hoping for. It has a 2X4 and 1X4 with album art, and a 1X4 with no album art.

If they'd make it so that you can set the full view to be transparent, like Music Mod, I think it would hands down be the best player out. That's the one thing I give Music Mod over it, but other than that it really is a great player.

Sounds like I may not need to purchase the full version for my needs, unless the "trial" version is only for a limited time.

I just got PowerAmp and iSyncer on my EVO. Now there is definately no need for iTunes. Thank God! Screw that restrictive Apple bull shit.

PowerAmp is quite a powerful media player, and this setup works GREAT on my EVO!

I personally like power amp, it's a nice/free alternative to the stock player, & it has eq settings too. It reminds me of the old school windows media player skins, but without the visualizations while the music plays.

i wonder if the free version will always be up, or if he'll remove it eventually, forcing people to pay $5 for poweramp if they wanna continue to use it.

It's a month-long trial for the free one I think... something like that.

Not bad really, compared to something like MixZing. I'm sad I bought MixZing now... PowerAmp trumps it.

im also LOVING poweramp. i got the free one so far, but will likely be buying the pro version. im a bit of an audiophile (not insanely), so i REALLY love the eq when i want to fine tune my sound.
the only gripe i have so far, and im sure theres a way to fix, just havent had the time to sit with it...
is the default view...im one who listens to whole albums at a time, so i like to see the artist list at the highest level, then the albums, then get in there and play songs.
the default view seems to be "folders" as opposed to "library".

but so far PowerAMP is awesome.
