What new phone?

Rezound is still working great, proximity/light sensor cluster is dead but otherwise it's still kicking butt. But, I've had it a year and the itch for something new is gnawing at me. Will have to buy off Craig's list or retail full price. The DNA is sweet but thinking it's going to be too big, plus the non expandable memory kind of kills it for me. Thinking razr hd or hd maxx. Would rock to have no worries about swapping out batteries or keeping a charger at work. It's not THAT big a deal but still it's part of how I'm trying to justify an expensive purchase lol.

Anyone replacing and if so with what and why?

My proximity sensor is just now starting to act the fool. It's not reason enough for me to move onto another device however. I, too, have the itch to move up. I love HTC so the DNA would be the phone if I were to migrate at this time. By the time I make a change, there will likely be a newer HTC to choose from. You might slide by and try that DNA out for size. I've heard it's size is not offensive but that's subject to personal taste. I wish you well in whatever device you decide on.

I went to the DNA and love it. It sounds like its gonna be a huge phone, but really the way its shaped with being taller rather than wider, it isnt that bad. Its been an amazing phone so far since i got it like a week or two ago now. I miss my rezound a little, but this thing is like a rezound on steroids.

Given your preferences: Samsung S3 -- 4.7" screen, removable battery, expandable memory... everything a phone should have :p

I'm about as big an HTC 'fanboy' as you'll find (Incredible, Thunderbolt & Rezound are the only phones I've ever used -- would have had an EVO but it didn't come to my carrier)... DNA specs are out of this world but no swappable battery makes it dead to me =(

I don't like Samsung, my friends s3 is nice but he gets a terrible signal. They just don't do it for me style wise either.

I'm rethinking the DNA, worried about the battery though. My rezound gets pretty good battery life from its tiny battery but if if I use it for games, Netflix or web browsing, forget about it lol.
No removable storage either kind of blows. I have around 11 gigs of stuff on my rezound, that would max out the DNA.

That's the appeal of the razr hd. But specs wise, other than the s4, it's nothing special. I have always liked Motorola.

decisions decisions...

We're in the same boat, I see. Have the Rezound. Rooted. on Custom Rom. Love the phone. But i was itching to use my upgrade. However, Verizon ruined things:

1. The DNA (which I was anxiously awaiting) has no expandable memory. The battery life was an issue too, though to be completely honest I have heard it is fine and not the nightmare folks expected when the 2020 mAh battery was confirmed.

2. The Galaxy note 2, by all accounts, is an excellent phone. But I think at 5.5 inches, I realize there is such a thing as too big. Besides I am not too thrilled that Verizon has crippled a few of the features that were advertized.

3. No LG Optimus G for Verizon. This would have been a good compromise for me. Powerful, expandable storage, an excellent, good sized screen. All this and the only downside being having a brand with a questionable history of updating phones (a nightmare combination when you think of the carrier I am forced to deal with).

4. The Razr HD. As you say, nothing special. And a history of not-so-good cameras.

So I have had this upgrade since July. And the sad truth is, if I wanted a new phone, the best option right now for me remains the best option back in July: The Galaxy S3.

So with those options, I have stayed with the Rezound. This is the first time that I have ever qualified for an upgrade and chosen to stay pat.

I hear ya on point one. With the DNAs pixel density, small unremoveable battery, and over weighted Sense I just didn't take it seriously. The Note 2's radio is no match for the Rezound. If you believe the dbm numbers. I DL a market signal measure and get much better dbms. No trouble connecting to towers or grabbing 4g signals. It's always on 4g and I know this for sure. .....the radio is much better than the Gnex. Remember when everyone was waiting for that upgraded radio? Never came.

After consideration, I think I may hold out. I really want a shiny new toy but I'm betting there will be a 32gb DNA, kind of makes sense so Verizon can sell it for $299. Then there's the post holiday glut that will probably flood craigslist with new phones at good prices.

i was set to order the DNA next week, and then i heard about the new M7...can't believe the DNA is already outdated.:D

I have both the Rezound and the DNA,both are great phones,i compare the battery in the DNA to the rezound with the extended battery, but once you start using the DNA you forget all about the battery and limited storage,it is a pure speed beast, with a display that cannot be matched,no regrets buying it.
