Is there any difference of the Note 10/10+ convert handwriting to text feature vs Note 8 convert handwriting to text feature? What improvements/differences? Thanks

I don't know much about the 8, but from what I've seen of the 10, when writing notes "screen off", not only does it store the image, but also attempts to convert it to text so that your notes are searchable based on content.

its a much simpler ro do this on the note 10....it is a one step conversion. from what i saw you make your notes and then you go to settings (3 dots) and select convert to text and boom you are done.

vs the note 8 you have to:
1.edit your notes
2.lasso it
3.select extract text

I keep the notes app on the edge bar on my S8+ . I like making notes and the older I get the more I NEED those notes :) Being able to quickly jot one down and convert it to text to save is very attractive to me. I've never used the S pen but I'm guessing I'll fall in love with it in short order.

How do you do it? Do you use your finger to write on S8+ screen then convert to text?

It's a native Sammy app that came with the S8+. Open the app, hit the +, and add a note using the keypad. It works just fine. Saved me a number of times.

That is cool but I have to admit to date I've not created a word doc on any of my phones.
i use word from time to time on my phone. i have the office 360 so i can read and edit on my phone, then hop on my pc to do more work if i need it. notes on windows could be very handy.

How reliable do people find the conversion of handwriting to text? Does it tend to make mistakes?

If I want to write text using handwriting to text inside whatsapp app or sms app, is there any difference of note 8 vs note 10 convert handwriting to text?

yeah from what i have seen on reviews, it does depernd on how good or bad your writing skills are.

that i can't tell you. i don't think nobody knows right now until the phone is release out into the wild. i have not seen any reviews that talks about apps and what not. everything i have seen just talks about specs and features.

My handwriting is a bit sloppy and so was the translation. You need to be methodical about it. If you can set the phone on a flat surface before writing that will be better...
I also found writing in landscape easier than portrait when using the handwriting input of Gboard, as it doesn't move the written text as quickly as Samsung's offering sits
