What phone did you have before the G1?

I had a shadow. I hated the sort of qwerty keyboard. It always wanted to change my words from dish to fish and I mostly wouldn't catch my message until it went out so I would sound insane.

My last and current phone is a Treo 755p.

I like it a lot. The minuses are that it's slow and that PalmOS is old and needs some serious work, but you knew that.

Once this contract ends I'm going to get me a shiny new Android.

dang lol i went from a bb pearl to a sidekick 3 then sidekick lx,blackberry curve then the t-mobile dash.then the sidekick 08 and now the g1! loving it!

Sidekick 3 for two years. Never been able to send picture messages until now. Love it. This phone rocks my world.

Nokia 6010. I'll probably win the "biggest upgrade" award for this thread. :)

It was a great basic phone, but it was a little behind the times.

i had a razr from 2001. it finally died on me like a week before the G1 came out.

and that is how fate works sometimes, my friends. =)

LG Voyager... which I still have because I love Verizon's service. While I don't exactly like the software of the Voyager, I still think the keyboard on the Voyager is my favorite of any other hardware on the market.

Most Recent: Nokia E61i that I bought from "Tech For Less" to use on T-Mobile.

Last actual T-Mo phone: Nokia 6301, but only used it once or twice.

I also own a Nokia E62, that I got really cheap on Ebay, to use as a Prepaid phone on T-Mobile while I was evaluating switching from MetroPCS to T-Mo.

When I was on MetroPCS (from about this time last year, until July), I had a Samsung SCH-R410.

So, that's everything I've owned/used during the last year.

This is my first smart phone. I've always carried serarate devices so that I didn't have to play follow the leader ... or in some cases the loser.

Seeing that it's an open source op ... that was the close for me. I know there will be many updates on the G1 for years to come. Now if they can just set the dang SD card to load apps .....

My first SmartPhone was the Audiovox SMT5600, then the Wing, Dash (with WM6.1), Shadow (also with WM6.1) and now ... *drum*roll* The GeeWon!
:)

I had the blackberry pearl for 2 years. loved every single thing about it. Always felt like it was capable of so much more but didn't want to go to the bulkier blackberrys. Then I started thinking about a smart phone. bought the 1st gen iphone. got so frustrated with it I had to restrain from rolling down my car window and chunking it into traffic. back to the blackberry pearl I went in search of better technology. so here I am.

I had an awesome, awesome phone, the Samsung x495
Practicality never looked so good: speakerphone, instant messaging, HiFi Ringers

Treo 650
Centro
BB 8820
Treo Pro at the moment

Must say I loved BB the best so far. But Palm OS is great on the other hand. And there is a bunch of great apps for it. Current Treo Pro is slow (oh well, it's WM)

Treo 650 here, Can't wait to get rid of it!

Palm OS is great on the other hand. And there is a bunch of great apps for it.

I guess it works for some people, on my Treo it freezes often, I can't seem to find worthwhile apps, and it seems like there's not a lot of support for it anymore. I look forward to using a new platform :)

Like many of you, I have had so many phones. I was even a beta tester back in the day with ATT Wireless when the digital phones where coming out. That sure brings back some memories. My last phone was the Mogul with WM 6.1. Good phone, but the G1 is better. :D
