Root What ROM would you recommend?

PACman was nice... I was having issues with Current Widget, so flashed CM10 the other day. It appears that has the same bug though with Current Widget :(

I think a new rooter would not be concerned about a bug with the current widget. I would be more word about install issues. Like failed installs, the need to upgrade radios to get it working or broken auto rotate issues.

Anyone else here use Pacman?

How is CM10?

Good... think battery life is slightly better than PACman, not that battery life was that bad when on PACman :)

I was thinking new users may be best of trying these ROM's:

Sense users:

Viper DHD - It will give the phone an HTC One X/S operating system.

For vanilla fans:

aospX and Ice Cold are good bets for ICS. But am guessing new rooters would want Jelly Bean. JellyTime, PacMan or codefireX 4.2.

Although in the past I have recommended older ROM's, I noticed the new guys upgrading quickly. Seems to make sense to just recommend the more current stuff.

Even though I'd moved to the other side (Nexus 4) I still reckon for ICS lovers the AOSPX rom is a cracker. It's basic but it works so well on the DHD. Battery life is so much better too!

So, that is where you went to. How you liking the Nexus 4.

I'm enjoying the new user experience. Without trying to make you jealous It's in a different class but you'd expect that going from a DHD. The screen is slightly bigger but the resolution is the difference here, crisp clear images. Though overall its slightly larger it weights less (to me it does). For the price its a no brainer.

I'm bored of Sense and GB now. I no longer need GPS, so I'm thinking of a new rom as a late Christmas present to myself.

Is code fire still alright? Recommend anything else?

You should probably try CFX 4.2. Bluetooth is not working, but everything else is supposed to work pretty well.
