What security are you using with 2.2?

You're right, I don't have a girlfriend, I have a wife.

A wife that also has her own Incredible. :p

Ahaha. All the more reason, she knows exactly how to get around on your phone. My girlfriend is by know means a tech person (she doesnt own a computer), she doesn't understand the dude|droid relationship in the slightest.

Hehehe, this makes me laugh.

My fiance and I both have Incredibles. Got them at the same time in fact. We both work in the tech field and are very tech savvy.

I am the one that set up his phone. He didn't want to deal with learning all the ins and outs, so I set everything up and he just does what I tell him :)

We use each others phones all the time. Why would I run upstairs to get mine just to check a website or send a friend a text when his is right there? Same goes for him, as well. We know each others lock codes (or in his case, his lock pattern). Unless it's a work call, we even answer each others phones

Ohh... and we are "friended" on google's latitude app. Which means that with a touch of a button, we can find out where the other person is within a 15 meter range ;)

We trust each other. A lot. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Using a PIN is a step backwards imo.

Why? It is much more secure than a lock pattern.

A pattern, with 9 dots and a minimum of four dots in length and no repeats has only 9!/5! + 9!/4! + 9!/3! + 9!/2 + 9! options. About 622 944 options. A pattern, depending of other factors, can be easily guessed from swipe marks (60% the study said IIRC).

A PIN with 16 digits max and 4 min and repeats has 10^4+ 10^5 +10^6+ 10^7 +10^8+ 10^9 +10^10+ 10^11 +10^12+ 10^13 +10^14+ 10^15 +10^16 options. Also known as 1.111111111111 x 10^16 options. It is harder to guess from a fingerprint pattern. Much more secure. My PIN (as I said earlier) is 11 digits. Good luck guessing that in any reasonable amount of time.

Exactly!

I have a friend who's WEP Key is the 6 digits of her birthday. She made fun of me when I told her that mine was 32 digits of pure randomness.

Then her internet service got canceled because her neighbor hacked into her internet not once, not twice, but THREE times downloading massive amounts of torrents. Her ISP didn't believe it wasn't actually her (hey, who wants to believe she wasn't smart enough to change her WEP Key after the first hack? :D ) and by law they had to cancel it anyway after the third time.

Using the PIN now, although I used the pattern before. Security is a must for me due to client confidentiality laws. The retina scan was intriguing when it popped up on the 2.2 update, but I did find it in settings as an option.

Im gonna use tasker to create a profile to where the phone doesnt unlock unless you run around a starbucks 3 times.

I definitely want some security from a stranger's prying eyes so before the 2.2 update, I used the pattern lock. I have a good relationship with my wife so she has full access to my phone. Anyways, she loves the games I've got on my Incredible:D.
