What should I do first

Hi everybody,

I've ordered a Flytouch 3 16Gb tablet and i'm currently waiting for it to arrived. According to DHL it's last known location was Hong Kong.

my question is what should I do first on tablet with it arrives. I've been looking over this forum and rooted is mentioned (From what I understand this is basically giving you full root access to you machine) and also customer firmwares (Tom's I think) is also mentioned a lot.

Should I be doing these sorts of thing.

While i'm a noob to tablets and android i'm experienced in Linux/Unix so I won't be afriad of getting down and dirty on this machine.

1. Check if is a DISCO or DISCO10 if is not root it and go to step 3
2. Put tim4e rom's files on a well-formatted (format via sd-formatter) SD, insert the SD in the Tablet and turn it on.
3. Update (or Download) the Dolphin Browser
4. Download Advanced Task Killer and Startup Manager
5. Download Tapatalk (for using forums), MoboPlayer (best player), TinyShark (for listening cloud music while doing whatever else), Angry Birds (it's good and Free), Adiko Reader (for Ebook), Manga Watcher (for Mangas), DropBox (very usefull), and a Good Pdf-Reader.

Enjoy.

Many other tweaks I made are:

1. Share a 2tb hard drive (of movies) via Wifi and via Cifs Manager
2.MobileVoip with a Voipstunt account and a cheap 10

Nice one giubari, I'm also awaiting a FT3 from Hong Kong so your list is a great help.

Also how well does the VOIP work? Also like the idea of the shared drive too.

Hi Giubari,

Just one correction, you don't have to root your tablet to perform a firmware update it is intrinsic to the tablet and not dependant on the firmware currently loaded.

Also I thin k Dolphin browser is included in Tims 4e build so you wont have to download it separately...

I'm sorry, maybe I didn't express myself good, i said that if the tablet wasn't a DISCO, he should root it by himself, because the TIM4E (Disco compatible) is already rooted.

Yes but it's the old version 4.xx and sometimes Update function doesn't work well!

Also how well does the VOIP work? Also like the idea of the shared drive too.

VOIP: Works Perfectly (no Lag, no Bad sound)! Try it by yourself.
VIDEO on Network: Perfectly (also HD, i didn't test full HD) also being a little far from the Router.
