No apps, slow downloads, and no cool phones? And all this time I thought I was blown away by the droid. Then that girl showed me the way, with the infomercial style confusion, "what is this?" That, darlin, is a hardware keyboard. It's used to type things. And play games without having to use the touchscreen. But yea, luke wilson, you're right. Thanks for showing me the light.
On a related note, verizon posted a loss versus att's profit in q4. Go figure. I guess marketing towards the below average intelligence consumer (see above ad) has its advantages.

versizon added just as many customers but i think the acquasition of altell (which was an investment into there network) is still bringing there numbers down.AT&T also activated 3.1 million iPhones last quarter as well as a mere 1 million "other phones"
i wish VZW would fight firre with fire here. hire a real actor and dump out their flaws for all to see. yes yes, during the Super Bowl with all to see. it'd be great. buuuuuuuuuut with Big Red possibly getting the iPhone, i dont know if that would be in best interest

Like an election there will be those who make informed decisions--and the iPhone could be a better choice for some(one else)--and those who will do whatever the idiot box tells them to do. I personally would rather have Verizon spend their money on LTE than getting down and dirty with ATT.
ATT's FUD campaign isn't going to backfire before Verizon gets the iPhone and nobody cares anymore. They've painted a picture for those who don't know better that Faster 3G + Good US Coverage + iPhone (3 separate commercials) = Good 3G coverage everywhere on the only cool phone in the world, and that Verizon=fail. It sucks, but the marketing bass-turds deserve props for well-concealed sleaziness.
And what's ATT going to do when their iPhone exclusivity runs out?
