What the hell

Go to "contacts". Hit your menu button. Select "display group". Select contacts from your google account only. It'll have your myspace, facebook and twitter accounts listed, as well as "all". Don't select any of those if you don't want them displayed in your contacts. Also, if you go to your contacts, just simply swipe your screen to the left or right. It'll display a different group.
 
Ok, I checked my dialer contacts and had the same problem. I did two different things. I don't know which one worked, but it worked. First, go to your contacts from the contact widget (the green one), not the one displayed at bottom of phone. Hit menu, then select "more". Select "settings" and deselect (uncheck) everything listed.

The other way is to go to contacts (the one at bottom of screen), go to menu. Scroll down and select "phone contacts".

I had the same exact problem. It worked for me.
 
I went into the menu found contacts, slected more, then settings..

It showed up with phone contacts and google

i unselected google, but all my facebook contacts are still showing up :(

It's a facebook thing, I think I may have to clear my phone

I had to delete my facebook account from my phone, i just downloaded the app instead. That's silly that I wasn't given an option to sync my contacts or not to.
 
You are on the right track.
Now, pay for the Plus version of launcher pro...trust me, it's worth 3x what he's charging.
Once you've done that and entered the plus code.
Now delete your FB account from the phone and those 1000s of people you don't want to see goes away.
Now add the FB widget from LP.
Now add the LP widget for people to replace the stock contact widget
Now, how about that beer?

I decided on LPP because of how much info there was about here on AF, but I've heard ADW is just as good from the ones here that talk about it. I doubt you'll do wrong no matter which you choose.:cool:
 
Gonna be honest, im extremely overwhelmed at this point, I don't even know what I'm doing, is there a good beginners guide anywhere? lol

Read, ask questions, throw a chair every now and then...you'll get there as we all did.
 
Also, I remember bring asked if I want to "sync" facebook/twitter/myspace to contacts. If you select no, this won't happen. I'm going through the phone to figure out how you can deselect this option. I'm sure it's theyre, but no promises. Brb

It's not there, the phone make you sync at least one of them if you add, we've been down this road.:(
I think I even tried to add my twitter acct 1st since it's empty of contacts and sync it, but the phone was too smart and grabbed my FB contacts when I added it after anyway.:mad:
But if you find something, post it up and we'll all be like :eek::D
 
Figured it out! I'll take a Bud Light Lime!

Go to settings, then accounts. Click the facebook icon with your gmail address linked to it. Select "delete". That's it. Your not deleting your facebook account, just unsynching it from your phone. You can always add it later.
 
unfortunatley it makes it so you cant use the facebook connection, and your forced to download the Facebook app, which I suppose I can live with. but damn thats silly.
