Not that I don't see where you are coming from, but it is just a tad silly that the main reason you picked one phone over another was a CEO.
I would normally agree with you (and understand your references to stories about Samsung corruption), but the difference here is that Jobs' condescension has, in meaningful measure, been directed toward his customers. "Hold it different," "all phones have attenuation issues," etc. Sure, all phones respond to how they're held, but calls arent' dropped because of the placement of a pinky. I tried the iPhone 4 at an Apple store and the plunge in reception by placing my little finger over the magic spot was incredible. Rather than "the customer is always right," he indicates that the customer is stupid and, as good little fanboys and fangirls, should ignore reality and steep themselves in the nonsense spewing forth from his reality distortion field.
Corruption - whether minor or major - is rampant in corporate life, but don't scoff at your customer base. They deserve more, and his micromanagement of everything from product definition to design, launch, etc. requires him to step up to the plate when he screws up. What's silly is to ignore it when he doesn't.
