hi sorry if this has been answered but couldnt find anything!!

i have not long had my t-mobile htc hero adn when i got it i was told to go to the t-mobile website and download the upgrade rom but now im wishing i never as i cant root my phone.

i have the upgraded stock rom but what do i need to do so i can root my phone and upload a custom rom????


please help its driving me nuts!!

just another quick question after scannin over the thread you posted im presuming that im going to lose the downloaded apps ive downloaded im not bothered about ones i havnt paid for but i have a couple i have paid for :confused: and i dont really want to lose them

Shouldn't lose them if you log in with your Google account afterwards, they'll be there to download again. If you're bothered, buy my backup pro, it'll back up all your apps. And everything else, actually. It's worth the money. :-)
 
im goin to use the trial version lol :P cheers for your help mate going to have a go 2nyt and hopefully have a rooted htc hero 2moro with custom rom and many more goodies :D
 
im strugglin am i doing something wrong?

i have downloaded the latest sdk from the android site and i create a shortcut for the cmd.exe i then run the

adb shell
cat /sys/class/mmc_host/mmc1/mmc1:*/cid

command and im getting

adb server is out of date. killing...
ADB server didn't ACK
* failed to start daemon *
error:


someone please help im goin mad!!! aaarrrggghhhhh :mad:
