Root What to read before rooting?

Hi,

Can you recommend some stuff to read before rooting my phone and installing CM7? Or good videos?

I would like to understand most of this stuff, not just follow blindly the few steps to do this.

Is there a collection of information about this stuff? Faq style things at least?

It's actually all pretty basic, root itself doesn't really require any reading, all you're doing is putting 2 files on the system partition.

Changing ROMs is a little more involved, but to be honest, you're probably best off following a guide, but don't do it blindly. Pay attention to what's happening to the phone at each step, you soon begin to understand things.
