what we need is a list of stock apps or services we can safely remove after rooting.

so far I have got rid of;

Youtube
Peep
Stocks

you can also uninstall
news
facebook
all the HTC ones (HTC Hub,HTC like, and whatever)
Make sure before you uninstall anything that you make a backup with titanium back up just in case you delete something wrong by mistake

do you mean news, or news and weather?
if HTC Hub is gone will i still be able to get scenes and skins thru the personalise button?

uuuuuuuummmm I think it's news...I've deleted that app so long ago that I don't even remember for sure but it's definitely not the one with weather. Although I'm thinking maybe even that one should be ok to delete.

As for personalize, yes you will still have that feature. HTC hub is more the Play store of HTC, except that it sucks in my opinion :p

what about ;

Friend Stream?
Local?
Vodaone stuff like 360 and shop?

can stock message app be removed if i have go sms?

Friend stram: yes
Local: No idea...
Vondafone stuff: I would say yes....
stock message app: Well I installed a custom rom and uninstalled the stock browser because I was using dolphine and I didn't have any problem (Same thing with the camera). So I would say technically yes but I have never tried on stock rom

Hi,
I own a HTC Wildfire S and I like to know how to move/delete Facebook and maps.
I've rooted the damn thing, and am still looking to make it work my way.

Once rooted you need to download titanium backup. That will allow you to remove unwanted apps

I'm finding link2sd much simpler to use for removing apps.

Can anyone explain the difference between linking to sd and moving to sd, and which is the better option?

Linking to SD card definitely. that is what you should do. It will save you loads and loads of space. I have linked almost all of my apps. I easily have about 30 odd and still have between 30-40mb of space (Running CM 7.2)

Thanks for the tip.

So, I thought I'd try Link2SD. But I didn't have a partition yet.
I used the recovery to partition my SD (DUMB)!
Now I lost all my pictures, music etc.
I'm using Pandora Recovery to try to get it back, will take about one hour.

Link2SD does look promising, once I'm done I'll partition my SD the safe way and try it out :D

Thanks!

It's quite a good idea to freeze apps using Titanium Backup and waiting a week or so to see if it causes any stability problems before deleting something - if you don't get any issues you can safely delete them.

Or even Link2SD. In order to freeze with Titanium, you need the paid app. But it's free with Link2SD

Very few apps will work properly if moved to SD card. Link2sd 'fools' the phone into thinking they're on the internal memory so that apps intended for installation on the internal memory will work as they are meant to.
