I upgraded from the ENV2 to get the Droid..(personal Phone with Verizon) ...been waiting a long time (since the iPhone came out) did not want to go ATT. I have a work Blackberry currently on a Bold... but have had 7280, 7290, 7100g, 8700c, 8310c and then Bold) Droid Kicks the BB a$$. ;)

I was an Alltel/Verizon customer with an Alltel Touch Pro. My contract would have been up in Feb, but I decided to use my new every two discount to get the Droid for $150. Then I sold my Touch Pro to my brother for $50. I really miss having an HTC phone, my last two were HTC. Motorola has done a great job though, and the build quality is even better than my Touch Pro which had a few problems.

Hooray for first post!

I had the Chocolate I. I had it for two years and it survived quite a lot of abuse. Needless to say, the droid was a big, much needed upgrade.

I had the Samsung Saga prior to the Droid. Like the phone, hated WinMo. Love the Droid with each day I figured more things out on it.

I had a Curve 8900 through T-mobile. I mainly switch due to provided coverage and got a hellofa phone to boot. It was a Win-Win situation for me.......

Had an iPhone 3GS. Miss some of the music and podcast playing abilities and the multitouch browser, but I don't regret the move in the slightest. The multitasking and full customizability make me wonder how I ever lived without them. And not having to use some sync software, especially one as horrible as iTunes, to move media to my phone is great (mounting and copy+paste are all I need or want).

I came from the XV6900 ...

Yeah, same thing! :D

It was pretty slow and buggy, like all the WinMo phones, but I have to say it was worth the $80 I paid for it under the 2 year contract at the time.

Maybe that's just cause it was a huge step up from my previous Samsung SCH i730. Man, that was like running Windows Vista on a Pentium II.

Motorola w755 the free phone verizon offered. I got my phone last year and had the worst phone compared to the env's and all that other crap now I have the top smart phone on the market .

I had a first generation flip phone from tmoble for 3 years . pre paid type , this is my first and finale phone for a while and I love it !

I had an Alltel PPC6800. I got that when it was on its way out. Even with all of the kinks of a new phone, I definitely prefer to be early to the party than late.

Motorola RIZR Z6c - used and abused it for nearly 2 years. The Droid is a whole new experience though.

Wow! 4 pages of posts, and no-one mentioned the Motorola V9 (Razr2).

Beautiful phone (not a real smartphone, but didn't think I needed the web at the time). Only drawback was battery door that was so flimsy it would fall off if you looked at the phone sideways!

Prior phones (all on Verizon)
Razr V3
Motorola 810 (I think that was the name)
some crappy LG (vx4300?)
another crappy LG
Nokia something- about 3 days.. piece of garbage
Motorola T720
LG CDM4000 (champagne- just to be different)- welcome to digital
Motorola Vader (this thing was tiny)
Motorola Startac
Motorola flip phone
Motorola brick phone (think of Zack Morris on the old "Saved by the Bell" episodes
Permanent mount car phone
Bag Phone

Damn.. I've had a few in the 20+ years with cell phones

I was using Omnia with blazingwolf Rom. I was looking at maybe getting the Droid, but as soon as I saw Blazingwolf had jumped ship I knew I would no longer get updates to my Omnia.......damn you wolf! and thank you too!! :D

I had the exact same thing on my omnia... I got sick of all the things that the phone didnt do well and i was sick of dealing with it.
