The iBerry 13xe which is due for release in 2021 when the missus will next let me waste
If it was now, looking at the rumoured specs of the Nexus/Droid Prime, it would probably be that. However, I'm not due an upgrade till April (I think) so I'll have to see what's available to me at the time. Whatever happens, as long as it's pretty high spec and Cyanogen are making ROMs for it, I'll be happy.
The DHD was my first Android handset and it took me about 6 months to root and go the custom route, it certainly won't take me that long this time around .
Edit - Just saw your response. Why don't you root, I firmly believe the majority of your problems stem from the fact your handset is branded.

The one problem with your thinking is that the handset isn't branded!

If your not using a google account for your contacts may I suggest that you do. It is the simplest thing going. If you get a call from someone not in your contact list, you have the option to simply add them and they will automatically be synced with your Google account immediately.
If you change your phone, as long as you can have an Google account, your contacts will all sync again once your Google account is added to the new phone.
Anyone who flashes alot of roms, this is a no brainer. Flash new rom, add google account and all your contacts, calendar and anything else are back on your phone.
