Root What would you do if you needed a battery pull?

I'm happy with the stock rom for now, but as new roms get fleshed out, I might be tempted to try one or two out. I've needed to do battery pulls several times with my previous phone, so what would we do if that were ever needed for the N4? Wait for the battery to drain? Pray it's never needed?

I had this question before I bought the phone. After asking a few people, it seems that holding down the power button for 10 seconds or so will turn the phone off no matter what. It's supposed to be somewhat of a fail-safe. Hope this answers your question.

Yup, that's how its been for just about every phone with a built in battery so far

It will completely cut power to the device just like a battery pullt

I don't know anything about your previous phone, but why might a battery disconnect ever be needed for the Nexus 4, please?

I've had to pull the battery on the Nexus S. It doesn't seem to like being left in a holster overnight. The screen doesn't respond, goes semi-dark and funky, the keys don't respond. Pull the battery, and everything is OK. The phone might be wearing out, but still.

The "Nexus 4" is not a "Nexus S".

He was answering your question with an example of what may happen on the Nexus 4. Custom roms may be buggy, or trying something not known to work can result in the phone being unresponsive but still powered on.
