What would you do

Wondered what you people would do in my position.

I sent my contract HTC desire in to for repair. It was meant to take 3-5 days, but for some reason it became lost in their repair centre.

After a fortnight of waiting and many calls to my network, I was told i'd be sent a refurb replacement by special delivery. The refurb didn't turn up and royal mail said it was sent back as it didn't have a full adress on it.

I rang my network and they said they would get them to send another. A day later it came (special delivery) and was pleased to have my phone back!.

This morning for some reason, I have got another refurb desire through the post!!

After all the messing about i'm tempted to keep it as a spare......but do you think it would come back to haunt me? Do they check their side if it has been delivered?

The safest bet would be to call them and explain you got two somehow and let them decide. That way they won't find anything amiss in their records and bill you for the full price of the device.

Test both phones (they are refurbed and may have issues, cosmetic blemish etc). Keep the better one. Call network about the two phones. I have seen a situation where they let you keep both phones as a gesture of goodwill. But I have also seen where they will bill you for the extra phone. If they want it back, you should request that they send you a return delivery label.

They have asked me to reurn the phone and have asked I pay for delivery and they will subtract the cost from my next bill.

I have now been sent another replacement so now the idiots have sent 3 replacement phones in total.......I am well annoyed and just think sod it, send one back and keep my own and one other, afterall it's their fault and if their that lapse, will they even realise!

I would be weary of trying to keep one...moral issues aside...they likely know how many they have sent you and if you keep more than 1 you may end up getting charged for the extra you decided to keep...given you haven't paid for it and all.
