Please explain the nature and purpose of a "launcher" and why it's needed. Any drawbacks ?
I concur.
I wish this forum had a "newbies" section, especially for the numerous users migrating from the iOS to the Android OS and are not familiar with terminology despite reading their eyes bleed, or familiar with other things like the pros or a Launcher or Rooting.
On the iOS, "jailbreaking" was easy and an easy concept to understand and the benifits of doing so was a concept that was also an easy concept to understand.
"Rooting" seems to be much more complicated with a far lower "reward" for doing so.
It seems that Rooting does not have nearly the advantage of JB'ng the iOS.
Regardless, I'm going way OT, but it would be nice to have a newbie section.
When I was in the "hobby" of decrypting satellite signals, the forums and users would write clear and concise instructions on how to hack the numerous "Free to Air" sat boxes, strictly for "testing" purposes only
and when newbies became more proficient, they would "pay it forward" and help out the incoming newbies and many of the forums had "Basics" sections in their forums.
Since my LG Motion is inexpensive and cheap to replace, I would like to begin "testing" it as well, so if I "brick" it I can easily replace it but it seems that their are little resources for those of us that are not familiar with the Android O/S and extensive reading is like reading a different language.
