What's for dinner ?

Tomorrow night we try our new and only true steakhouse in town. It is my wife's birthday and we thought we would give the establishment a try. They are just now entering their sixth month of business. I have always thought that the size of my little town that's now over 26,000 strong might be large enough to entice a Texas Roadhouse or a Longhorn steak house. Wichita has multiples of both restaurants but none are close to home. Instead, we get a privately owned establishment. It's a new building and I understand it's very nice inside. The FB crowd aren't cutting them any slack. The reviews aren't all that favorable. I don't mind what it costs, but when I go out to eat a steak, I want it to be close to being a decent experience.

We went out to some Disney themed park, about 5 miles from the actual Disney World Park. Went past several places and finally wound up at some dinosaur themed place.
I had a steak, but I gotta admit that the burnt ends, from the first place, sounded really tempting.

On a side note, we've never been frisked before getting to eat dinner before. The Boss Lady had to go for a second round inspection.

We tried the new steakhouse. It wasn't fantastic but it was pretty good. Prices were in line with competing restaurants and being local was nice. The wife had a ribeye that she said was cooked to her liking and was just okay for tenderness. I had a chicken fried steak that was very good.

We went to Medieval Times tonight for the dinner and show.
Roast chicken,
Roasted potato,
Corn cobett,
Tomato bisque,
And garlic bread.
I washed it down with a Bloody Mary.

BTW, our knight lost.

I diced up the remaining grilled chicken thighs, added a can of pinto beans, chili seasoning, hot salsa, cheese, and wrapped it up in a tortilla for dinner last night.
Tonight I fired up the Blackstone and put together a stir fry.

We're combining Memorial Day weekend with a late Mother's Day and former tax deduction son's birthday... so I began brining a 5.36-pound Cowboy Ribeye steak while I stripped down our Weber Genesis gas grill to clean it. With that done, I used paper towels to pat the steak dry and rebrined it to get as much liquid out of it as possible before I season it, let it take a short nap, and then reverse sear it to perfection. This has the distinction of being the largest (and most expensive one) steak I've ever grilled. Once that thing comes off the heat and rests, I'll post another picture for you.

(To be served with sauteed mushrooms, asparagus, and garlic/cheese Texas Toast - with Darling Bride's homemade strawberry cheesecake for dessert)

Just got off of our cruise today.
For the past week we've eaten very well, and often for free, too.

So, for today, we stopped at Buc-ee's, outside of Daytona Beach.

I got a Texas cheese steak burrito.

I'm "Almost" ready to go back to the ship.

Somewhere up there is a mountain kitty looking down at me, thinking I can't believe Uber eats delivers out here :D :D:maskeddroid:
