Help Whats happened to my BIG accuweather widget?

Not that i use it much but since i removed the stock accuweather widget from my homescreen i cant for the life of me find out how to get it back..

I can only see the small version
( i only wanted to show it off to someone )

Iv heard you can expand widgets but i dont know how

anyone?
 
firstly make sure the widget is at the top of an idle screen
i just tap and hold the widget till the phone vibrates then drop it. then drag the bottom right hand corner to resize
 
it randomly started showing the re sizing thing about a week ago so i dont know why it happened
 
Not all widgets allow expansion, the expand view (yellow frame) will appear if you tap and hold the widget for more than 2 secs then release.

dont move the widget around once youve tapped it

Crofty the vital information is that you need to grab the grey triangle that's in the corner of one of the yellow boxes, you can barely notice it.
 
Thanks for your help guys however i still cant get the accuweather widget to increase in size!

do you know of any other widgets that should resize so i can give them a go?

Try and try again. I had the same problem, but after numerous tries I succeeded in resizing the accuweather widget :p
 
finally sorted it

It seems the key is in the "letting go" of the widget as opposed to long press.

So,
Press the widget for 2 seconds then let go without moving it. the yellow grid appears to resize it.

In conclusion, i am NOT going insane!
 
I just had the same issue as you did last spring. The
trick was to hold then just let go without moving your finger. then resizing is quite easy.
