sorry if i seem ignorant btw
Not at all, I was super paranoid when I was going through the process so I was double checking/asking questions literally every step of the way.

When you rooted, did you use the Radio and ENG S-Off tools? When you used the Radio S-Off tool, you had options like Simunlock and SuperCID (Carrier ID)... if your phone was branded, this would make it completely unbranded.
Don't be silly... you only learn by asking!!
EDIT - SUPERCID = CID11111 or something like that. I believe that one of the other options is to have an HTC CID, which is HTC111 (or something like that). The Carrier ID is what means that you need to have a goldcard to flash/downgrade... the goldcard "tricks" your phone in to allowing it to flash a non-branded rom on to your phone.

No idea then mate, sorry. I've an unbranded handset so I can't really comment.

guess ill have to try another rom to see if that clears it for me..Leedroid me thinks
oh btw, can i still do official updates from HTC if i wanted (not that i would)

its in this part, so i guess i did supercid
1. Power Down Your Device
2. Go to Bootloader
3. If it says Ace PVT ENG S-OFF your phone is ENG S-OFF.
4. use Volume down to get to system info and tap power button to select
5. check CID for CID-11111111 (if you have this all is done 100%)
6. Reboot
Just checked this out...
[Q] Removing the telus logo from bootup [Archive] - xda-developers
It says that flashing a custom rom will not remove the carrier splash screen, but flashing a generic HTC rom WILL remove them! That must be why I no longer have the Orange one!
It also says that, if you have ENG S-Off, you can flash custom splash screens via fastboot - make sure that you have a FULLY charged battery when messing with stuff via fastboot... if you loose power when flashing radios via fastboot you can brick your phone!

..fantastic!!!!!!! thankyou again..
just ended up here

big props to you guys in this thread who have helped me out- i really do appreciate it. you see, not everyone in the world is an a$$hole afterall ...lol

By the way... gonna grab that link for when I'm aat home... looks like a pretty painless way to flash, amongst other things, radios (which I will have to do at some point)!

Screens of your SPLASH! - xda-developers

If you flash a new Radio, let me know how you get on.

Aye, the reason I want to wait is because I want someone else to do it first![]()
lol,always the way..
i cant get the splash screen app too work correctly, it reboots my phone into the HTC boot menu for some reason, or it doesnt find my DHD
Does it have any info in the thread? It's quite substantial.
had a little look, but the thread is 64 pages...gonna take a while.
just another thing, will my DHD be unlocked to any service provider now? or is it still locked to 3 ?
.I will be flashing a radio at some point soon... not just yet though - probably when I change ROM's, but promise that you'll be the first to know!!

Incidentally, on 3.1.1, I was getting a problem with intermittent SMS notification. Are you experiencing that too?

I thought I did but it was just a case that no one txt'd me
The only issue I've had is with the WiFi not connecting sometimes, it seems ok at home but struggles at work
