Root Whats next guys?

When you rooted, did you use the Radio and ENG S-Off tools? When you used the Radio S-Off tool, you had options like Simunlock and SuperCID (Carrier ID)... if your phone was branded, this would make it completely unbranded.

Don't be silly... you only learn by asking!! :D

EDIT - SUPERCID = CID11111 or something like that. I believe that one of the other options is to have an HTC CID, which is HTC111 (or something like that). The Carrier ID is what means that you need to have a goldcard to flash/downgrade... the goldcard "tricks" your phone in to allowing it to flash a non-branded rom on to your phone.

its in this part, so i guess i did supercid :)

1. Power Down Your Device
2. Go to Bootloader
3. If it says Ace PVT ENG S-OFF your phone is ENG S-OFF.
4. use Volume down to get to system info and tap power button to select
5. check CID for CID-11111111 (if you have this all is done 100%)
6. Reboot

guess ill have to try another rom to see if that clears it for me..Leedroid me thinks :)

oh btw, can i still do official updates from HTC if i wanted (not that i would)

I'm liking LeeDroid so far :)

No, When you press Check for Updates, even if it still tries to contact HTC, they'd reject it as one of the checks they carry out is S/W version number and your S/W version wouldn't correspond.

A little strange then... perhaps (not sure on this one) if you download boot animation changer (say not sure, asI think it's a splash screen, not a boot animation), you may be able to remove it. When I downgraded prior to rooting, it got rid of my Orange UK splash screen... you never know though... you might be able to do it from there!!

Just checked this out...

[Q] Removing the telus logo from bootup [Archive] - xda-developers

It says that flashing a custom rom will not remove the carrier splash screen, but flashing a generic HTC rom WILL remove them! That must be why I no longer have the Orange one!

It also says that, if you have ENG S-Off, you can flash custom splash screens via fastboot - make sure that you have a FULLY charged battery when messing with stuff via fastboot... if you loose power when flashing radios via fastboot you can brick your phone!

No problemo... only too happy to help! I went through the whole process a month ago and, as El P said, he went through it literally a couple of days ago.

You'll be in our position now and able to offer help and advice to anyone going through the process themselves!! :D

By the way... gonna grab that link for when I'm aat home... looks like a pretty painless way to flash, amongst other things, radios (which I will have to do at some point)!

If you flash a new Radio, let me know how you get on.

Will do mate... don't think I'm gonna be able to do anything this weekend though... off on a 2 day photography course.

Want to make sure that I have plenty of time/I'm not rushed if I flash a radio! :D

had a little look, but the thread is 64 pages...gonna take a while.

just another thing, will my DHD be unlocked to any service provider now? or is it still locked to 3 ?

Aye, I started looking through it for an answer but didn't realise it was 64 pages, hence my post, sorry :o.

If you got Sim Unlock when you got Radio S-OFF, then yeah, you should be good to go.

I will be flashing a radio at some point soon... not just yet though - probably when I change ROM's, but promise that you'll be the first to know!!

To be honest I'm still abit confused with this radio bit. The recommended version in the Leedroid thread on XDA looks to be the same as mine anyway

Thanks El P. Maybe I'll try flashing the radio sometime, I still haven't flashed the recent LD rom update yet so I'll proberbly do that first.

No probs. I had to triple check before I posted though ;)

Incidentally, on 3.1.1, I was getting a problem with intermittent SMS notification. Are you experiencing that too?

I thought I did but it was just a case that no one txt'd me:(

The only issue I've had is with the WiFi not connecting sometimes, it seems ok at home but struggles at work

Download 3.1.2, that should improve things. Incidentally, unless you want to format to EXT4, you don't even have to wipe/factory reset before you flash it, it will just go on top of what you have already, meaning there's no need to backup.

I asked in the thread if you needed to wipe before upgrading and the answer was no.
