Root what's next to do?..

~..Hi to all, I have so many concerns about my Samsung Galaxy Reverb (M950) with Jellybean 4.1.2 and been tried to root this phone few months ago but It didn't work for me so I tried to research other way how to root my phone and I've seen a videos from the Youtube rooting their S3 with jellybean 4.1.2 so my question is that compatible to Samsung Reverb?..today I flashed custom touch with odin and like usual everything flashes fine, I pulled the usb cord and pulled the battery out..As soon as I put the battery in I held Vol Up and Power there's a Samsung logo when I let go the power up and still held the Vol up it goes to Blue text says:

Android system recovery <3e>
Volume up/down
power button to selext

Reboot system now
Apply update from ADB
Apply upate from external storage
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
Apply update from cache

#Manual MODE #
--Applying Multi-CSC...
Applied the CSC-code: VMU
Successfully applied multi-CSC.

~..So what to do next?..is that mean that I can now do a ROOTING and HOW?.. Your immediate response is highly appreciated!!.. :)

That is just your stock system recovery, you can make and restore backups of your system with it.
That is exactly the problem with the new Reverbs not being able to be rooted because the stock recovery reflashes itself when you reboot after trying to install a custom recovery.

You're much closer than you think you are, if you can get SU.zip in your external storage you can install it from that screen you were just in and root it. I'm attempting what you're doing but I cannot get to the recovery screen... lucky you, mind explaining further how you got to that screen?

Not with the stock recovery, you can't.

But you can get into recovery by holding volume up and the power button-when the phone is turned off

Where did you get the "Touch Recovery Tar"??
Good luck & thanks in advance

If you have a JBOOB, you won't be able to get the touch recovery to work.
She tried to flash it, but on JBOOB Reverbs, the phone will automatically revert back to stock recovery on reboot.
Otherwise all those folks with JBOOB would be rooted already.

Ive noticed that xposed adds a .zip file of some sort that disables recovery flash.. would putting this on your extsd (thats where it goes on mine) would that fix the problem of the recovery flash?

I have touch recovery working on my jboob

I was rooted first and used mrg666's cwmt

I was NOT rooted first. Tried four times in a row with failure I suspect the same as the guy above who is having trouble. I did the procedure it says... flash CWMT with Odin, pull the battery, boot with recovery key pressed.

What ended up working was that procedure, but don't bother trying to boot in to recovery first. I powered on the phone after successfully flashing CWMT, then before a logo even showed up I pulled the battery again. The next boot attempt after that with the recovery key held down did in fact boot in to CWMT.

For whatever reason after flashing recovery my phone (which came with JB preinstalled) would not allow booting to recovery without booting Android normally once first. So if others are having trouble getting CWMT to "stick" after flashing it in Odin, try my altered procedure.

edit: oh and don't forget to disable automatic reflashing of stock recovery or you'll tear your hair out I'm sure... CWMT will warn you of it before rebooting, don't ignore it.
