What's next?

Thanks for the links...something to keep my eye on. Yeah, I would say September is out (they only have about 4 1/2 hours to keep that timeline). :)

Follow your nose from there over to the defect list and the developers chats. Interesting if you're into nuts and bolts. :)

And to the guy reporting that ads aren't coming through on YouTube -

Thanks.

I'm sorry you don't have it in the UK! However, getting more app support is critical to the device actually becoming popular enough to sustain (and therefore go global). :)

That Google will live up to its promise, and that it will allow local streaming? This is an absolute must if I'm going to buy of these. Yes, I'm sure there are ways around this, but I don't mess root or anything like that. You think we will see this soon?

Moved your post over here, so you'd have the links above if you want to check SDK status.

Until the SDK is done, we will be seeing very few apps.

Local streaming existed, it may again once the SDK is done.

Rooting isn't possible with the latest firmware.

This will never be a desktop mirror for your phone - wrong protocol.

Google supports Miracast for that.

A review on Miracast etc in general (warning, it's the Verge) -

Is the 'AirPlay killer' already dead? | The Verge

Unlike Miracast, Chromecast lets you cast one thing from (say) your phone while doing another.

PS - If you're looking to share your pictures, videos and web pages from your phone, that's coming like this -

Other solutions are in the works as well.

The pictures on Google Play for the latest update of the Pandora app showed the chromecast button. They've since replaced those pictures, but I think this means that Pandora will be here VERY soon.

I have the Pandora app on my TV but I'm not impressed.

When it comes to Chromecast, I may give Pandora another go.

Google is stepping into the music for money market on YouTube so I expect most of my favorites to get pulled real soon now.

What I'd really like to see on Chromecast - VEVO.

Works.

Awesome. Read the AndroidPolice post this morning saying it was up, but haven't been able to try it since I'm sitting in Advanced Accounting 4030 right now. Tonight.....
