I purchased a Seidio 3000mah battery to use for super usage days, such as at the golf course running the GolfLogix GPS/Scorecard app for 6 hours or all day events taking pictures & videos. Because it is twice the size of the standard battery, it won't fit in the Samsung desk dock or car mounts, so I don't consider this battery a "daily use" battery.

My question: What is the best way to store/maintain the Seidio battery? Should I fully charge it or fully deplete it and then put it away, or doesn't it matter? Obviously, I would fully charge it before intended use.

FWIW: After 24 hours of normal use, the battery is indicating 78% remaining. My standard battery would be down to 25% or so by now, so this big sucker definitely works!!

According to Cadex (a charger manufacturer), store it partially depleted (about 40%) because Li-ion batteries degrade faster when stored with full charge. If storing for a long time, over a year, just be sure to charge it occasionally to avoid over-discharge.

just how big is this battery? i was looking at it myself, maybe even for everyday use? what kind of cover do you have on the back of it?

The Seidio battery is slightly more than twice as thick as the standard battery, so it comes with a new plastic back that has a rubberized coating (feels good) on the outside. The weight of the battery is definitely noticeable, but not too bad.

I've found when using the phone it's actually easier to hold with the new battery & back. It's still at 65% after about 38 hours since the initial charge after receiving it.
