Root Whats the best custom rom to use

Just wondering which is the best rom to use can you only use a rom if you have rooted your phone

Using villainrom 10.3, very stable, runs fast, can be overclocked which makes it much snappier. Can choose between sense ui or stock android home screens, friends stream included and has its own updater.

because my Hero has issues and if i root it Orange wont replace i dont think... is there a way to go back to normal if needs be?

Custom ROMs aren't always perfect. Sometimes there will be bugs, but lets just say the devs are a lot quicker than HTC when it comes to releasing updates

You can always reinstall the official firmware via the PC. Or, restore the backup you make during the rooting process.

I have been using Stickmans Sense Hero and I prefer it Villians, never had a problem with it. And I pefer updated look compared to Villains.

Of the custom ROMS (rather than unmolested repacks), Sense was the best IMHO too. It has less bugs than Villiain and did not need patching every couple of days. I haven't tried the latest custom ROMS based of the proper GSM Hero 2.1 code from the Taiwan release, as frankly, there is no point, when I can run the real deal.

I've been using the MoDaCo rom based on the Taiwanese GSM 2.1 rom, and have found it to be fantastic.

It's all down to personal opinion, but from my perspective I am very happy with VillainROM 10.3.3, coupled with myLegend theme 1.3.3 &

I'm using default cyanogen from xda with enoch theme, runs very well so far and theme looks great

EzHero if can do big setup at start, not bad at all after setup.
