Help What's the best settings for the camera?

I am trying to determine whether 8mp 4:3 is better than 6mp 16:9.

6mp seems to be bigger but I'd like to use 8mp. Which one is optimal?

On a side note is there a way to view videos recorded on the X10 in landscape mode rather than in portrait? thanks in advance.

Hi.

Not a clue about your first question but in regards to the video if you recorded in landscape mode then it should play fine but if you record in portrait then try to view your video in landscape the video will be on it's side as pictures and videos should be taken and recorded in landscape.

Was at a wedding a month ago and gave the phone to my sister to take pictures, being an iPhone user she took them all in portrait mode so when I viewed them on the comp they all had to be rotated. The phone expects when you use the camera that you will use it like you would a normal camera, i.e button on top.

Photos are better with image stabiliser turned OFF i found.

Re the 8mp or 6mp... up to you... as you know the shape changes and the difference in photo quality on a camera phone regardless of "megapixels" would not be much.
