Root What's the chance of bricking my droid while rooting?

Hiya

I obviously have the Dinc and am playing with the idea of rooting. I got Gingerbread and like it, but honestly, I'm kind of bored with the phone and would like to try rooting but I'm kind of afraid. I really can't afford to buy a new phone...

Unrooted, there really isn't any problems with my phone. I haven't gotten the Low Space warning, It accepted the update and patch with no issues, and seems to have better battery life since.

What is the chance that I might brick my phone? Is there a site that will really give me step by step instructions?

zero chance if you follow the directions exactly, there is instructions right at the top of this forum "all things root"

Agreed. Emmnemms, take a few minutes to read through the instructions to familiarize yourself with everything.

Believe me, if I can root the phone with no issues, ANYONE can.

Dive in root your phone. Just follow the directions it easy and pick a good rom and enjoy...
I like CM7.1 (2.3.7) but everyone has their favorite...

Bricked no, soft bricked yes. You can easily mess up your phone, but its very hard to actually brick it. As other said, read the instructions carefully, these guys know there stuff, what ever they tell you to do, you do.
