I'm backing my truck up to the dairy farm store on my way to the bakery. We are getting 6" here.I just had a system move through. I should have run to the store for milk and bread. Accumulation has to be a half inch!!
Ouch, I can hear the zipper sound that the windshield makes in my head.Cold! So cold in fact that in the process of thawing out my truck to make a grocery run my windshield cracked all the way across this morning. It's now 14° with the wind chill it's around zero. My ten day forecast reads like a nightmare with Saturday's high being six degrees.
I missed hearing it. I started the truck and returned to the house as it thawed out. It's been this cold with Ice on the windshield many times since 2014 without it being an issue. My truck always sits outside and standard procedure is to start and let it defrost before driving. One time too many I guess.Ouch, I can hear the zipper sound that the windshield makes in my head.
Actually even a minor pit can be the catalyst for the crack to spread. Rarely is it just a plain, undamaged windshield.I missed hearing it. It may have had an undetected pit. This time of year there is often sand on the roads to aid traction on ice. Who knows? Seems odd that is broke otherwise.Actually even a minor pit can be the catalyst for the crack to spread. Rarely is it just a plain, undamaged windshield.
