It's cold, 25.9°F cold with a North wind. It's foggy this morning and will remain overcast through the day according to the forecast with show predicted tonight through tomorrow morning. It's that time of year and the weather is typical but I sure miss the unusual forties and fifties I've enjoyed the last week or so.

Wtf???:mad:o_O:maddroid::thumbsdowndroid: yesterday I wake up to a miserable 65 degrees :thumbsupdroid: and this morning 28 degrees

Take care and safe rootabaga. Snows like that look beautiful when it's not in your yard. Snow was predicted for my area over night but it went North of here and nothing fell here. It did manage to drop the temps. It's currently twenty three degrees. At least the winds are calm.

:D getting warmer, unfortunately they are expecting a snow storm in the next several hours :maddroid::thumbsdowndroid:

We have our first real shower today, yesterday was bright and sunny type of emotional day for us :)
I am glad to be back home before it kicked in the preciptation :)

Got another Nor' Easter brewing. They are calling for about a foot and a half of the white stuff for us. About friggen' time. These snowless winters are getting tedious.

How was Midnight at the Oasis?
I've been in a few environments but never a desert.
Did you know Antarctica is a desert? No? I didn't either! Until I heard it during a promo for Discovery+.

As for deserts in general, I've never been at an oasis at midnight, but I imagine it would be very pretty. (Thanks a lot, DPB! Now I can't get the song out of my head! :D)

We've had rain, glorious rain, lately. And snow!! Up in our local mountains, as much as TEN FEET of snow per night. The snowboarders and skiing folks are thrilled! :D

Thanks for the kind thoughts. After three nearly-continuous days of snow we had about four feet total, and there were a couple of “pucker moments” in the first thirty or so miles driving home, but we arrived safely. Unfortunately, I slipped and fell and damaged my shoulder the night I posted that pic and will be heading to the doc this week to see how bad it is. Almost more worried about covid exposure at the medical center than about my shoulder. ;)

I'm glad I'm not within striking distance for you guys might slap me down after my post. :) Super nice here today. I'm enjoying 52.9° temps with zero wind. It's just so incredibly nice that I feel guilty posting.

Every year I vow to purchase a snow blower or thrower. And every year I'm glad I didn't. I just don't normally get enough snow to justify one. That's not all bad. :) I can only remember a few show stopping snows in my lifetime. This is pretty much what I have for snow removal.

So I got home tonight and my step son was aching to get out of the yard, so I tried something new. I bought a backpack leafblower this year and the salesman asked if I was going to use it to clear snow, which is something I hadn't considered. Well, with this storm light and fluffy, I figured I'd give it a try. Ten minutes and I had the bulk of the snow off the drive. ~typed this an hour ago, step son drove into a ditch and I had to go pull him out, now I have 4 inches of snow in the drive, so I'm going to need the real snow blower tonight.

I've used backpack blowers for years and they have a lot of power. My Shindaiwa backpack blower that boasts of producing 209mph winds that will often do the job. I've accidently blown trim molding off an auto with it. :( It will remove most of the light dry snows we get here in Oz. Once in a while it's too wet to do the job and on rare occasion it's too deep to do the job.

We got a few inches last night and then this morning you could hear sleet pinging off the roof. Seeing how the highways are restricted today and our drivers couldn't get out, for everyone's safety, we closed for everyone. At noon there was no appreciable accumulation on top of what we got and I started thinking that it was another weather "snowmageddon" false alarm. About 2:00 p.m. whatever was falling changed back to snow and in the past 4 hours we've probably got that missing foot of snow. It's supposed to go until late tonight before tapering off, but I've got a fun morning ahead of me.

I figure I'll be out there around 6:30 a.m. and be done hopefully by 8:00.

We had a really mild blah winter last year. The snow cover is so nice to see this year. It's almost like the difference between ... oops, almost got political. ;)

Before and after ....
