What's the weather like where you are?

It is very wintery looking this Christmas day. It is now just above freezing with an overcast sky that has everything looking gloomy. It's a very typical day for late December in these parts.

It's been more than a few years since we've had sunny weather around Christmas, but today is a very nice mostly sunny day with temps in the mid 50's. This weather pattern may be what's keeping my SAD symptoms at bay.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Christmas day, if you celebrate it.

No rain, no cold, no Christmas! We're waiting until Saturday when the former tax deduction son is here to do the whole Christmas thing... it'll be more of the same, with the added "gift" of a possible thunderstorm.

It never reached fifty degrees yesterday and with the dense cloud cover it didn't get cold over night. Today started out wet. There was no rain but it was extremely foggy. It remained pretty much socked in all day with zero wind and the temperature staying in the forties and the humidity in the mid nineties percent. Currently it is 42° with 98% humidity.

Thirty four degrees, feels like twenty threeish.
no rain or snow,
wind speed seventeen mph.

Gust thirty two.

No snow or rain.
Clouds
a touch of the massive nova in the sky.

It's cold enough now for me. Currently it is 26° after an overnight low of 23°. There is an NE wind blowing just under double digit MPH. There is a winter storm watch in effect over the weekend.
Freezing rain, sleet, snow.... everything but locust are in the forecast so their bases are covered. Winter weather must be nearly impossible to predict in my area for they are so seldom right.
The biggest snowfall in my life came with a forecast of a trace to two inches. And after decades of crying wolf, nobody pays particular attention to the weather person.

It's currently 28° and I'm getting moisture. I can't tell what's falling but the ground is too warm for it to be ice or snow once it hits the ground. It is supposed to rain/sleet/snow until this afternoon when it turns to just snow. It is to continue through the night and most of Sunday. A 4" accumulation is predicted and I'm sure they will change the forecast to meet the changing conditions as the weekend weather unfolds. :)

We have a blizzard warning until 6PM Sunday. The temp has hovered right at the freezing mark all day and everything has melted if it fell frozen. It's now 31° and dropping with the wind blowing in the teens mph. I can see it getting ugly over night. It won't be snow accumulation. It will be ice and then snow with winds.

Praying your power stays on, but this doesn't sound good. Stay safe amigo :thumbsupdroid:

We have I think six inches up in snow up here, but it is sticking so light outside.
I am glad we are not like olbrair's neck of the world.

46 and cloudy right now.
They're saying that it's supposed to hit 50 or so, but I'm not counting on it. Next chance of any wet stuff is tomorrow, but with temps in the mid 50's, I don't think that we're going be a part of the snowmegeddon just yet.

OB, y'all be careful out there.

The power has flickered a few times but has stayed on. We lost power last winter and I scrambled to keep my parrot buddy alive. Following that outage, I bought a blue flame propane heater and a couple of 40# tanks. I also rebuilt some antique hurricane lamps I had so they were functional. As long as I'm prepared, I won't likely lose power. Here is the heater I bought and brought in from the shed.

I'm glad it is ready to roll. The weather is almost white out at times with the snow and blowing snow. Currently it is 16° with a North wind in the teens and gusting into the twenty mph range. Max gust today was 47 mph so far.

The snow has moved out of my area. There is still a weather advisory in effect. Blowing snow and low temps makes for some dangerous conditions to be outside. Only emergency traffic is allowed on the snow packed roads. They have a layer of ice beneath the snow making for treacherous driving. I have no idea how much snow accumulation I have. I would guess only five or six inches. Currently it is 12° with a -4° windchill. The predicted low over night is 2° with a windchill of -15°. All of the schools, churches, and that sort of activities are cancelled for tomorrow. Many work places are only having essential employees coming in. I plan on sitting right here tomorrow. :)
