We got hit with about 2-5 inches of snow. And with ice on the roads is making travel treacherous. I'm in Tennessee by the way.

And could someone please tell me why was this winter storm named after Thor: God of Thunder? *smh*

I ignore the naming of winter storms. News stations don't need anything else to hipe storms. That's a Weather Channel / NBC universal creation. the National Weather Service doesn't do it

It turned out our 3" to 6" of accumulation actually was 3" + 6" And, yeah, from all the rain yesterday and now the 20° temps (and falling) we got mucho ice, too.

March came in like a soggy polar bear. It better go out like a friggin' desert fox!

We got a couple inches a few days ago, but our warmup has started & I have spring fever! As soon as I walked out of work today, a big stupid grin magically appeared on my face

It started out with single digit temps here but warmed to the high 40's this afternoon. Only the snow in the deep ditches remains. It's supposed to be progressively warmer each day for the next few days. Works for me.

Sounds like our ice might be lingering for another day... got a text message that the base will be closed again tomorrow. That'll be four weather days "off" in the past two weeks.

...which would be awesome if I didn't have to take leave for them.

My mistake. Our cows are commonly kept in this set up, which we call stables:

We call it a niepeng (牛棚), which means cowshed.

And indoor protection is common when it's -30c outside.

It's 42 & sunny outside - which is awesome! The downside is, it's 79 in my apartment, even though my heat is off & windows are open. I'm glad spring is coming but I'm sure going to miss the cold temps. I keep my heat off & windows open all winter to keep it from getting too warm.

Temps got into the low sixties today. No wind at all.. it was beautiful. I spent almost an hour in line to wash the salt off of my truck. I had to grill out some burgers tonight.... it feels like spring.
