Tulsa, OK area got down into the low single digits.

all the roads had a covering of ice crystals... never saw a single snowflake...

the grass out on the lawn was almost covered in ice crystals.

even at noon today, the roads still had icy patches in the low spots.. lots of stupid drivers ending up where they don't belong.

Tell me something--anyone who, like @PattiCakeUS , @AMOCO , @Unforgiven , etc lives where it dips to double digit negative lows---- how do your vehicles like starting up in the morning? Are block heaters/oil heaters pretty much a standard?

The lowest temp I think I've ever encountered when starting my car is probably 0....I don't recall any temp lower, not to mention double-digit-below-zero lows :p And when starting my car at 0, it makes all kinds of racket! She don't want to run lol :D
No block or oil dip stick heaters used here.Just real good batteries.

If your battery is good, then it is fine. You can feel the cold in the transmission and brakes in that you can feel how thick the fluid is. Diesels up here need engine block heaters.

I'm fortunate to have underground parking at my apartment, but at work I park in a normal outdoor parking lot. Last week when it was really cold (not as cold as today, but below zero most of the week) I was pretty sure my car would start after work because I have a good battery & keep everything maintained. But if today had been a work day I'd have gone out at lunch time & started it.

You get used to it, & normally the super cold is only for a couple days, maybe a week, so it's not really that bad.

Well the Kansas City Roller coaster is in full effect. It was 4 on Sunday, 24 yesterday, 40 today and the current forecast says almost 50 tomorrow and 60 and rainy for Christmas.

Oh but back to the 20's for Monday the 26th.

This is in Celcius degrees.
The Netherlands.
We've only had five white Christmases or so in the past century.
