No block or oil dip stick heaters used here.Just real good batteries.Tell me something--anyone who, like @PattiCakeUS , @AMOCO , @Unforgiven , etc lives where it dips to double digit negative lows---- how do your vehicles like starting up in the morning? Are block heaters/oil heaters pretty much a standard?
The lowest temp I think I've ever encountered when starting my car is probably 0....I don't recall any temp lower, not to mention double-digit-below-zero lows And when starting my car at 0, it makes all kinds of racket! She don't want to run lol
If your battery is good, then it is fine. You can feel the cold in the transmission and brakes in that you can feel how thick the fluid is. Diesels up here need engine block heaters.Tell me something--anyone who, like @PattiCakeUS , @AMOCO , @Unforgiven , etc lives where it dips to double digit negative lows---- how do your vehicles like starting up in the morning? I'm fortunate to have underground parking at my apartment, but at work I park in a normal outdoor parking lot. Last week when it was really cold (not as cold as today, but below zero most of the week) I was pretty sure my car would start after work because I have a good battery & keep everything maintained. But if today had been a work day I'd have gone out at lunch time & started it.Tell me something--anyone who, like @PattiCakeUS , @AMOCO , @Unforgiven , etc lives where it dips to double digit negative lows---- how do your vehicles like starting up in the morning?
