It's a cool [for us] week, with highs in the 60s. My fellow Southern California natives are pissing and moaning about how cold it is...so I remind them that I lived in Dallas, with its single-digit temps and its still-standing record low -1 degree so, yeah, THIS is not cold.
The great news, for several reasons, is that it's snowing like crazy up in the mountains. My grandsons, 8 and 10, who live out-of-state, are SUPER EXCITED about their upcoming visit, which will include a couple of days up at Big Bear, where they'll be taking snowboarding lessons. I'm excited for them!
Yes, indeed. Our local news has been showing the snowfall up there, and it's looking great! My friend texted me that they had thundersnow up in Big Bear.
and then started back up
. So I drove for about two hours dealing with on and rain.
again. Lightly at first, then it started coming down. Come down it did for a good twenty minutes and then it clear up, back to perfect driving conditions. So I am crusing along for about thirty minutes and next thing I see these tiny ping pong balls bounce off the hood of my truck
back to great driving. But as I continue down the road, off in the distance I can see snow coming down
. Okay no problem go slow and easy everything will be okay. I enter the snow storm with some light winds.
. No sooner does the alert ends and my truck and trailer get slammed by a gust of wind. It started pushing me into another lane, I let off the gas slow down, quickly straighten up. The highway speed limit is 75mph with the minimum being 40 mph. Pretty soon I am doing 35, then 30 and finally 25mph. My trailer is swaying side to side. Visibility has been touch and go and till finally I can't see a darn thing. So I am currently in Kansas (USA). Last night I started driving and it was raining pretty hard, then it let upand then started back up
.

Sounds like quite the adventure. I don't miss that kind of weather at all. Stay safe!So I am currently in Kansas (USA). Last night I started driving and it was raining...It took me another hour of creeping along before I could locate a safe spot to pull over.

The sky's clear, it's been quite dry lately, and it's rather chilly here for late May, it's around five degrees outside. Before you go, "Whoa!" remember the fact that we use degrees centigrade...
Okay i am thinking this is a bit chilly![]()
