whatsapp data issue

Hello!

I picked up my HTC one last Friday and I realized my whatsapp doesn't keep track of my data usage like it should. It says I sent about 12kb of data even though I sent pictures and videos, it also says I sent about 20 messages but that doesn't add up either.
Is this just a bug or is there some way I can fix it?

Were you connected to any wifi APs at the time? Unless you enable the option in Data Usage wifi traffic isn't included by default.

yes I have WiFi enabled in data usage and that shows the correct amount of data used, but in the app itself nothing changes

Ahh, I misunderstood.... you're referring to the app's internal counter in Menu/Settings/Account/Network usage.

Tbh I don't know if my own is accurate compared to Android's data usage monitor as a recent firmware update zeroed the latter. It's definitely incrementing with use though - messages received today have been included.

I think the data counter in the app is well off.

I've been using it for months and it's claimed I've only used 3.9MB. The bundled Android data usage monitor says I've used that in the last week.
